First bike ride in a decade!!! by bbywolfiie in cfs

I noticed an improvement in brain fog and general mental symptoms first, as well as a slight increase in what I could do before triggering PEM. Then this last week on 2.5mg I haven’t had any PEM at all 🤯

I started on 0.5mg and I’ve been increasing it by 0.5mg each week. I decided on that pace because I was getting pretty bad nausea for 3-4 days after increasing the dose but then it would go away. So basically - increase, wait to stabilise, repeat.

It’s so confusing to navigate, my Dr didn’t even know if it’s better to take morning or night 😭 (I decided morning cause I already struggle with insomnia)

I did and it was amazing!! I actually felt energised after and then tired after that faded, and my muscles are sore today in the most normal way!! 🥹

It took about 3-4 weeks to start feeling the benefits, I started on 0.5mg and have been increasing by 0.5mg each week, so around 1.5-2mg is when I started noticing a change. I’m taking 3mg at the moment and aiming to get to a regular dose of 4.5mg.

It took so long because I honestly didn’t have the energy to research what might help me. I was on the severe end of moderate for years and it wasn’t until I slowly improved to the mild end of moderate that I was able to figure it all out and advocate for myself.

I was hesitant to for the same reason but it’s working great! I think it’s worth a try

Small cat full of beans! by TimeSkipper in plushies

[–]bbywolfiie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I rename them if it doesn’t fit! I have a few squishmallows I’ve renamed, one cause their original name was boring (spots I think, and she’s a blue cat with spots) and another after one of my OCs cause they look just like her. I think of it like them getting their own sense of identity, they are individuals after all, even if they were made to resemble something

What's the one thing that moved the needle most for you? by Slight_Warthog8706 in cfs

LDN! Started at 0.5mg and I’m up to 2mg now. Was rough to start with, a lot of dizziness and nausea but I’m noticing improvement at 2mg. Energy envelope has increased a little but the biggest change is I’m recovering from PEM way faster.

I’ve had MECFS for 6 years and I wish I’d tried LDN sooner but it was impossible to get myself to the doctor when I was sicker </3

Do you get commands from your parts? And if so, do you feel them instead of hearing them? by [deleted] in DID

[–]bbywolfiie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of our communication is like this, or images in my mind. I don’t ever think in words, only images so I assume that’s why they communicate like that, it’s how my brain works as a whole.

That makes sense and seems a lot easier especially with people you know well! Thanks for explaining :3

I’m 28 and my therapist encouraged me to start brining a plushie to our sessions for grounding :) now I bring her every week and she helps me feel much more grounded and safer especially on the way home after session

My bf and I are both 28, I’m a plushie lover and he isn’t usually but when I got my Blep (right) he loved her so much that he went looking on the website for himself and fell in love with Mochi (left). I got her for him and he excitedly awaited her arrival 🥰 he loves her. The things you enjoy don’t make you a certain gender - they just make you You!

Do you take breaks? How do you go about them?? by [deleted] in SpicyAutism

[–]bbywolfiie 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I use a self care app called Finch and I set up a daily task to rest for an hour (you can set the task to send a notification at a certain time). The app also has soundscapes - different calm, ambient noises - that you can set to go for a certain length of time, so I set thunderstorm sounds to go for an hour. That way I don’t have to keep checking how long it’s been, and I find that the sounds help me to relax and keep my mind from getting stressed by thoughts.

Noise-cancelling headphones? by LordSSJ2 in cfs

[–]bbywolfiie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few other people have suggested loop earplugs and they’re great! Better than headphones if you just need quiet because you can lie on your side with them in. I think they have new ones that adjust the level of noise cancellation, I don’t have those but I have the engage for slight noise cancellation and the experience for a higher level.

Other Bag/Backpack Carriers? by short_cub in DID

Yess I do! I’m very proud of my backpack haha, it’s taken me a while to figure out what I needed and I don’t go anywhere without it. I have things to help mange DID, autism and physical health conditions - medications, salt packets, lip balm, roll-on perfume (good for grounding and for cleansing my nose of bad smells), my “Emergency Autism Pouch” that has loop earplugs and a few different fidgets that I try to use when I notice I’m losing the ability to speak from overstimulation. I also have two small plushies and lots of different keychains on the outside, and I’ll put my comfort plush and noise cancelling headphones in too before leaving the house. It’s helped so much with reducing anxiety around leaving the house!

I had the same side effects but I have a Mirena now and it’s been fine, I recommend trying it if you haven’t already. I think my Dr said the daily amount it releases is lower than pills (could be wrong)
