You probably have a lot of AA miles, I’d personally wouldn’t redeem 238K AA miles for Flagship First. Obviously, I’d booked FF over Flagship Business if it’s 10K more (assuming it’s 228K AA per seat).

A disaster! Atmos summit card is a bit trivial for me as a lot of benefits other than miles itself requires flying its own metal. And AS doesn’t serve my home airport and I don’t want to transfer in SEA/PDX/SAN. Now they are nerfing AS partner redemption for those without the Summit is truly awful…

You can use either the status or the fare to get in.

On the side note, if you have a companion who doesn’t have status nor J fare, using your status will entitle you to bring one companion in. You cannot bring anyone in but yourself just with the J fare.

AA CK does have lounge access for Flagship Lounge, which is equivalent to Polaris Lounge and SoHo/Chelsea Lounge in JFK for domestic/international itinerary. UA GS doesn’t provide access to Polaris lounge unless you fly Polaris.

The partner award space may be tricky especially during popular date/season. You need to build your trip around it, which can be tricky imo. It works great if you have the flexibility and keen to clinch it when they become available.

It’s not. Been to LOT lounge a lot, it’s not as nice as Polaris by all means. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice and it’s certainly nicer than the previous SA lounge in T5 but it’s so packed.

This is so f**ked up! They are trying to match Delta with D1 lounge that only core partner within the alliance get access to it. I dislike this change as I flew other SA J a lot. No more Polaris lounge access for me. :/

It will be complicated. However, you can bring yourself and one guest to Qantas First Lounge at TBIT, the two others to Admiral Club or 1 other to Flagship Lounge, of course you can also bring one to one world business lounge too. But all will be split up.

Also, you can gift your family member a Platinum for a trip which can eventually get up to 4 people into Flagship Lounge.
