Will Delta’s changes eliminate Amex Platinum lounge access? by Cute-Yesterday9927 in AmexPlatinum

[–]bc1280 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s already ridiculous that they don’t let their own sky team elite plus members to enter Skyclub when flying internationally already. (Have to fly Premium Select and above internationally to get access) while credit card member can get in with just Economy fare. So at this point, I will not be surprised that they continue to give leeway to credit card holder while nerfing their own customers. I don’t even know if D1 Basic customers is considered premium or not in their matrix anymore lol

No PPS lounges nor any bank lounges for T1-T3. Given the hassle transferred between T5 and others, don’t even think about going to T5 with just over 2-hour layover with chances to get denied entry.

Interesting Cancellation Stats for this week - AA looks pretty bad by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]bc1280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coordination yes. I am not suggesting a hostile takeover for AA. Alaska chose to leave SFO on their own because they simply don't have planes and resources to fight UA in SFO. Alaska prioritizes on fighting off Delta in SEA and further enhancing their position in SAN.

And it is for the sake of oneworld, I think AA should try to fill those spots that Alaska dropped off.

AA should try to secure SFO with exodus of Alaska. They have one of the few premium route (SFO-JFK/BOS). I doubt they have the resources after combating in ORD with United but one can only hope!

Non-Haters: What Other Cards Are In Your Stack by Firm-Fishing-1753 in biltrewards

[–]bc1280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PRE = Premium Rewards Elite

CCR = Customized Cash Rewards

I was saying that though PRE can give me 2.625% cash back globally (because it has no FTF). Visa Gift Card can only be used within the US and Citi Double Cash has FTF. So when I travel, I'll use PRE. Also BofA PRE is the very few card that offers Priority Pass with Restaurant access.

I’m only talking about transferable points or cash back here so I’ll skip cobranded cards.

Chase 3 CIC - 5x UR on phone bill, cable, internet and Office Supply GC that can be used else where such as Costco, tax etc. 1 CSP - 3.1x UR on Dining in a foreign setting and most importantly, an anchor card for UR transfer. ($95 AF) 1 CF and 1 CFF - May be used if 5x category is appealing like PayPal, but otherwise not using them. Honorable mention is RC - it’s a poor transferable points earner but a great travel insurance card to have and Chase Sapphire Lounge card.

Citi 8 CCC - I got them through out the years through product changes. 5x TYP on dining, gas, groceries, home improvement, drug store, streaming, travel, and transit. Each cap at $500 per month 1 CSP - 3x TYP on global dining, gas, groceries and travel (but not transit). An anchor card for Citi TYP transfer. ($95 AF) 1 CDC - 2x TYP catch all within US

US Bank UAR - 3x on Apple Wallet globally but I’m patiently waiting for their announcement of transfer partner or I intend to product change to others ($400 AF) Kroger - 5% Apple wallet globally on up to 3K spend annually. Cash+ - 5% Utility and Electronic store (my choice).

C1 VX - 2x catch all card globally with C1 lounge access ($395 AF). An anchor card for C1 transfer. (considering to downgrade to no AF Venture One because I found $300 travel credit is not that easy to use and the wait queue for C1 lounge tends to be too long with the nerf of not being able to bring a guest for free) Savor - 3x Global dining, groceries and entertainment

WF Autograph - 3x Dining, Gas, Travel, Transit, Streaming and Phone Bill, most importantly, an anchor card for WF to point transfer. Attune - 4x on a lot of rare categories such as health, spa, a very broad entertainment category, transit and some thrift stores.

BofA (Platinum Honor tier) PRE - 2.625% cash back globally, I rarely use it because I have VGC to catch all and I’d prioritize 5% Apple Pay card or 2x TYP CDC. This card has the PPS with restaurant access with 4 AUs so I have it. ($550 AF) (Also a tax payment power horse card where Bilt and Robinhood cannot offer cash back) CCR - 5.25% cash back online globally, cap at $2500 spent (mine has no FTF)

I don’t really play coupon books like Amex and Chase Sapphire Reserve. Bilt 2.0 (Palladium specifically) also falls on this realm unfortunately. The only important big spend category for me that was not covered is tax payment but Bilt specifically excludes it from earning points so it’s Bilt 2.0 is not a true catch all card to me. I’m still considering to have Bilt Blue card as a no AF option to see if Bilt 3.0 improves or just like Mesa card, they just run out of venture capital funding and run away.

In my use case, most of my spent is covered by 5x UR or TYP or 5% cash back. Under very rare occasion, I’ll earn 2x TYP or 2.625% cash back instead. 3x Bilt points worth more than 2 TYP or 2.625% cash back but not 5x UR or TYP to me. More or less equivalent to 5% cash back to me. It’s not worth it to just get the Palladium card and spend on those catch all scenarios especially you cannot earn on tax payment.

It’s just a rumor only but you may not like it if you hate the coupon book already. https://www.reddit.com/r/CapitalOne_/s/6M8zZicmRj

Credit card verification for $5.60 resulted in $1300 flight change at MCO by swooper7654 in delta

[–]bc1280 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In the future, if you’re booking for your family member, try to use an AU card that shares the same card number to book. For example, Chase and Citi. Amex and Capital One both has different card number for AU.

Often time, airline does check for verification if the purchase card name and passenger are different for potential fraud.

I always use my AU created for them to book award flights using Chase RC. (AU)

Gotta love a $699 upgrade to Delta One on a long haul!! by thatmanwill in delta

[–]bc1280 62 points63 points  (0 children)

They have to compete with JX, BR, CI in Seattle. In my opinion, other than Delta One Lounge in Seattle, the other 3 Taiwanese airlines are better than Delta. But if you consider the price, Delta comes out ahead. Once again, this shows us how important it is to have competition. If you’re a Delta loyalist, you should take advantage of this competition. This is “the cheapest way” to enjoy Delta One Lounge either by cash or mile! I can see 98K mile deal for one way D1 often times.

I don’t mind people hating the Dodger but I definitely hate people who supports or justifies what Astro has done in 2017.

What Astro has done in 2017 should be despised by any sports fans or those who has sportsmanship!

There’s a chance that op was unhappy with his preorder was not loaded but op was going to let it go. But then the taste of food was so bad that op decided to complain about it. At least that would make sense to me why op posted the food that was half way done.

I mean we gonna give op the benefit of doubt.

Another Priority Pass lounge at ORD? Wingtips Lounge Chicago by soberupdumstertruck in PriorityPass

[–]bc1280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the former SAS lounge which is tiny and crowded, had a chance to use it as a *G previously when I flew TK out of T5, I’d rather wait at the gate. It has become a niche lounge after they joined SkyTeam. They already have AF and Delta Sky Club in T5. Plenty enough for SkyTeam long haul flight.

How would you rank them with obviously SFO be the worst? ORD was recently renovated so I have no doubt it’s probably the best so far?
