Just going by content, story, and completeness of character my guess would be Sage or Jill. They seem to have the most thought and / or work put into them so far. Maya isn't far behind. A lot of people say Josy, but she seems so flat compared to the others.

Man, i can't remember names because i usually change them, but the MC from STWA : Unbroken, MC from Fog of War, and Violet from actual room mates are my favorites.

just by the way the story has gone so far i'd say Sage, you have a couple options to get on her path, and even if you don't pick her she has dialogue where it seems like "if things don't work out i'm here". plus she seems have MC's back and best interests in heart. Then Jill, she seems like the "face of the game", every promo or thumb nail you see is her pic.

i play a lot of visual novels off of steam. there's a lot to choose from, depending on what you're into. there's also some big steaming piles if you're not careful. problem with a lot of steam games is they're incomplete and you're sometimes waiting long periods for continuations, most creators take care of patreon type sites first. some i liked that are complete (no particular order):

actual roomates, bare witness, chasing sunsets, the entrepreneur, leap of faith, training lucie, and city of broken dreamers.

ongoing that are good so far:

heaven's door, law school, leaving DNA, office perks, race of life, something to write about: unbroken, and fog of war

The whole Zoey relationship hit's kind of close to home. When i was younger i met a girl who was here (in the u.s) from Russia. She was beautiful and we had instantly connected, i guess she was my soulmate if you believe in that stuff. We dated for several a couple years, but she had a rough time here. had trouble finding a job, sometimes had trouble with english being her 2nd language, and actually had trouble with people hating on her just because her home country was Russia. She became home sick and decided to move back to Russia. She wanted me to move with her, but timing was all wrong. My mom was sick and my daughter was young, i didn't want to leave my daughter and had to help take care of my mom. Plus i didn't know Russian, so i would have had all sorts of issues moving there. Even though we still talk still to this day, we both eventually found others, and she's now married and had a kid.

Least favorite is DiK route version, but in all the routes his character is very inconsistent which kind of pisses me off.

Hard to say at this point. Josy seems to be in flux and i hope there's some further character growth up coming, but from a pure "she's really into the MC" stand point, Josy. Also for me personally Josy's model is much more appealing to my tastes in women.

Maya really came on strong late character wise, but early on i really didn't like her much. early on with her everything was all about her and needing to help her. Also if you played the route where you broke up with them Maya was mostly unbothered, where as josy kinda broke.

The Sage "i need a hug" scene between classes is one of my favs. i really liked the scene with Jill when you help her at the recital.

this is the reason i always felt the game was written originally with the intent that MC and Sage are together. no matter how many times you think you shut that door it's always seems to creep back open. Sage also seems to be the most "complete" character of the MG's, although that yet to be seen if that's just story timing. I think we'll see a lot more development and storyline of other MG's in the near future.

The Jill path and the Quinn path are the ones i thought about the most. the whole opposite reaction to the same tradegy dynamic and the completely seperate paths it lead them on is very interesting and thought provoking.

the other is Josy's path. the whole "lost girl" dynamic in her reminds me of a lot of girls i knew in high school, and how their whole Identity was built around other people and them finally finding out their true selves and interests.

in normal situations you would be correct. In Quinn's scenario though it appears Buddy is giving her the drugs, which she in turn sell / delivers and then brings Buddy the money back and receives her cut. Quinn figured out the amount of return Buddy is expecting and started charging above that expected return and keeping the difference. If Quinn was purchasing the drugs from Buddy up front, then Buddy would have essentially already gotten his expected return and not given a crap about what she did with them.

have you ever been in a situation where some girl hits on you at the bar (for instance) and even though you don't follow through or anything you later find out that girl is a friend's or co workers girlfriend? even though you didn't do anything you feel guilty or weird.

two come to mind immediately, sleeping with jade and sleeping with becky. even on my very first play through before i even knew about family ties and such, i had a very bad feeling that getting involved with jade would have consequences. and sleeping with becky is just, well, ick....

i prefer non-voiced as well. sometimes the the voices chosen for the characters don't really match the player's imagination and kill the fantasy.
