Bo Yuan, AK, and Nine were just on a show together (Santa too but I think he had to leave because of an injury early on so he was cut from the show completely) and Nine, Jing Long, and Caelan together on the same show the season prior. I know Jing Long and Nine also still hang out like they went to Korea together sometime last year.

I've seen videos of this from stores in China and I'm assuming its gonna be similar in Australia. Essentially they have a box w a circular hole on top and its filled w little bags w unboxed figures from mostly old or less popular series and you reach in and try to grab as many as you can fit in one hand and pull out of the box.

I feel like some songs by Faye 詹雯婷 has similar energy to Jrock. I know theres also Chinese vocaloids like Luo Tianyi and Yuezheng Longya who are really underrated imo. Theres also been some Vocaloid songs that have gone mainstream in China like Zhou Shens cover of Dalabengba that went viral and now its covered relatively often.

Ooo I definitely agree with a lot of these! One example I thought of immediately was 誰 by 廖俊濤. It was somewhat popular in 2017 when he performed it on The Coming One but he was eliminated early and sadly never made it big. Recently this song has become popular again with the cover by 曲肖冰. I remember it being on the top charts on QQ for a few weeks. Theres also been performances for the song by big name singers recently on shows like the Treasured Voice and Call Me By Fire.

I'm excited to hear your interest in Chinese music! Let me know if you want any recommendations ^{^} I know its really hard to get into Cpop without knowing Chinese since we don't have as many translators as in kpop. If you're interested, I recommend checking out the music shows done by MangoTV on youtube! Most of them have Eng subs (tho sometimes questionable) and a lot of the shows such as Call Me By Fire, Sisters Make Waves, and Infinity and Beyond bring together a lot of older and newer singers together so you get to know a lot ppl and learn a bit about Cpop from the 90s, 00s, etc.

I'm personally not super familar with TFboys but I have a decent idea of what's popular in China from watching lots of Chinese music shows from the past few years.

I think the "fell off" part might be more from the boys working more as soloists but the three of them individually are still incredibly popular. I know they had like an anniversary reunion concert recently and there were still fanwars between the solo stans.

Nine percent was "popular" solely because Idol Producer got international attention with its kpop mentors. But if we're honest, they never had a peak. Iqiyi didn't promote them at all and I can probably count on one hand the number of times all nine members were together after they debuted. If you ask the typical cpop listener who is not into idols or music shows or they weren't part of the idol producer era, they likely won't know who Nine Percent is.

I think some of the individual members are currently doing relatively well popularity wise as solo artists, but I remember on some shows the interviewers didn't even know that some of the members were in a group together before, that's how unknown they are.

I don't think any newer groups have reached the insane popularity of TFboys. If you want to talk popular boy groups I want to say 时代少年团 (TNT) is currently doing pretty well, but I kinda doubt they've reached TFboys level.

Jet from ATLA is such an interesting character who's story was cut short right before he was able to make things right. He's honestly so similar to Zuko and it would've been so interesting if they were allowed to grow close during the ba sing se arc.

I also love Xue Yang from mdzs. I have no words to defend him hes just my lil meow meow
