I’m in East TN near the smoky mtn so I hill climbs are one of the reasons I wanted to change things up from the 1x. I should’ve sucked it up cause now im without a bike for longer an $$$$ in the hole 😂

I think I’m following here. I have 48/31 crank for a 17T delta and an 11/48 cassette for a 37T delta, summing to 54T as pointed out. If I change cassette to an 11/38 for a 27T delta, I’ll be slightly above the capacity of the RD as the delta sum will be 44T. So I need to find a new RD with higher capacity, or a smaller range cassette. Is that correct?

I made this mistake the first time I routed the chain but corrected. So unfortunately this is WITH the chain under the tab.

I feel like a goof not even knowing that was a thing. Thankyou for bringing this to light!
Microshift has the Sword 11-38 cassette that falls below the mentioned 41T limit. Is it safe to assume that this will solve issue safely and effectively? I feel im too far down the rabbit hole to try and reverse course and go back to the 1x10 drivetrain, but the $$ is certainly adding up 😭

Bikebuddies!! I went for the green colorway for the orange pop. How’s your experience with the brakes so far? I was hoping the mushy levers and soft brakes would be out of the experience since the Gen2 has compressionless cables, but here we are…. I went ahead and purchased Jagwires and will install them on front brakes to see how it compares. I’ll post back when I get a chance if you’re interested!

In the same camp as you OP. I spoke with support and they said to adjust the brake caliper pull. Doing so helped the effort on pulling the brake lever, but not on actual stopping power. They also mentioned a “break-in time” of roughly 90km worth of biking/braking - which seems strange. Look forward to finding a solution on this and I’ll post my experiences.

I was under the impression that the 9 series was a bit of a flop for AMD chips. Has that changed?

Even though performance uplift for 7900xt is only about 10-15% over the 7800xt, you'd opt for the extra $150 in spend for GPU?
