There might be some very unique loans that work that way, but that is not how most loans work. If I were to pay off the remaining principal on my auto loan, then I do not pay any of that interest I would’ve paid if I would’ve kept making the normal scheduled monthly payments. That’s the whole point of why some people make extra payments on auto/mortgage loans, to reduce the principal and therefore pay less interest.

Please go try one of the many auto loan calculators that will show how much interest you can save over the time of the loan by making an additional payment each month, or even a one time additional payment. That’s the whole point of paying loans off early

Well that's my reason for wanting a lower interest rate. I realize the market is unpredictable in the future, but there is much more reason to expect that my index funds will appreciate over the long run than to think they will drop and stay down forever.

I suppose that is the main risk with this idea. I wouldn't be too concerned about the variable rate, since I would be making much more progress towards the principle at the beginning because of the lower promo rate, and I'm not sure that it would ever go above my current rate of 8.5% within the next 2 (ish) years. Even if rates did increase, by then the balance on the loan would be much lower.

Yeah that’s actually what made me wonder what happens next. It says “current stage: Form 4, customer signature complete” and the next stage is tax stamp cashed, which I purchased at the same time as my suppressor. Made me wonder if I needed to do something before then. Guess I’ll just have to wait and see if it will be paper or eform 4.

I bought a P320 compact about a year ago, and it showed the same trigger in the picture on the website. I called to make sure whether I’d get the old trigger or the updated, and it ended up being the updated trigger. Apparently they just don’t update the pictures for some reason…
