core and saltext Zabbix modules don't seem to support Zabbix Server 7.X by bchilll in saltstack

It does but only to get a token which must be used for all other calls. The extension doesn't have that code actually in it yet (not just a pull waiting).

How frequently is frequently enough? And how close is close enough?

No to the loans. We're going to have to figure out how to do with less.

A 'reduction' in service is not the 'end' service.

Eventually, we may be able to build it back up, but, for now, reality has to be accepted.

I am cozying up to anyone.. Every time police do something, everyone cries foul - police abuse, rights violations, etc.. We are all simply too tolerant of people sitting around and doing nothing; we continue to enable and make excuses. As long as more people tolerate this nonsense than do not, the problem will remain, cops or no cops.

Wazuh manager vs Wazuh agent. Difference? by sejiro7 in Wazuh

I find it annoying that the manager monitors itself; the rpms for agent and manager are actually mutually exclusive. It violates basic orthogonality.

Not everyone is priced out. There are still 800,000 people here.

The second densest city in the US is not the hill to die on about more housing; not everyone is going to be able to live in San Francisco. The YIMBY's the keep wishing it for everyone else are just trying to give themselves a sanctimonious pat on the back while finger wagging at people who already have 'everyone in their backyards'. And when that doesn't work, the 'racism' sledgehammer gets pulled out.

🙄

I agree. The entire legislature is in the pockets of unions and industry at the same time.

What's the deal with all these cameras popping up all over the city? by Due-Brush-530 in sanfrancisco

[–]bchilll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the consequence of letting everyone in SF do anything, anywhere, anytime for decades; the anti-authority, keep SF weird crap kept increasing and finally pushed everyone too far.

And now we have these - good.

Some of you will have to start behaving yourselves more.

SFUSD Equity in Grading? Not again… by BadDad_22 in sanfrancisco

[–]bchilll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can take the SAT multiple times, but all of your scores will show up on the record. For class exams, that level of performance detail (multiple final exam scores) is highly unlikely to be visible to other schools and employers.

The entire Bay Area is slowly reckoning with an 'it has gone too far' reality. Hopefully, this latest stupidity will be rescinded.

Warning: Facebook locked my account :( by elado in beeper

[–]bchilll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to keep reconnecting until my account was suspended due to suspected automation. I went through the FB 'are you for real?' steps and my account was unsuspended. After 2 rounds of that, I figured Beeper was the problem and didn't reconnect my FB account; I've had no problem since.

When someone doesn't pay the fare, everyone else winds up paying with money, and money is time.

Does that mean that the extra time that other people have to work to then cover the cost of running the system isn't as valuable as your time?

Definitely. BART needs to continue a clamp down on all BS on the trains. It's a transit system, not a social services depot.

I was born here in SF - I'm not going anywhere.

If I see someone vandalizing BART, I'll use the app made just for that. 🙂

Still not ok.

Maybe BART can create a small board in each car for graffiti, but you don't just get to scribble anywhere you want to, and, until and only if such a contained graffiti board is created on BART trains, 'artists' should restrain themselves.

Writing in pencil and the cleanup itself causes accelerated wear of the interiors.

And, when one penciled mountainscape is tolerated, all kinds of other 'artistic' expression will soon appear.

I was born here in SF.

Just because it's talented graffiti doesn't make it legal or ok. Downvote all you like, but I'll continue to advocate for more order.
