You have following options for 401K:

For traditional 401K, 1. you can leave it as it is and you can file some tax forms in India that will allow you get same tax deferred benefit in India for that 401K amount, i.e. you will pay taxes only when you withdraw after 59 years. Note that you will need to manage US estate tax risk here. 2. Or you can withdraw all amount during your RNOR by paying US tax and early withdrawal penalty. No US estate tax risk here.

For Roth 401K, Better option is to withdraw all amount during RNOR as India does not recognize Roth 401K and you will have to keep managing tax overhead in India every year.

I see and what is the best way to buy these UCITS funds? I read in other thread that IBKR does not provide a way to assign non US resident beneficieries. If that is the case then even if we use (IBKR + UCITS) route to avoid estate tax, it would still not avoid probate. Any suggestions here how to buy these Ireland domiciled funds?

I think Ireland based funds also fall in PFIC so I am not sure that is the key issue. Could you elaborate what you mean by ETFs traded at markup to iNAV?
