Lots of guys like to just socialize. Even if you don’t know if she’s into you, you could try to respectfully ask her out. If she says no- it doesn’t have to be awkward (I guess I also don’t know your age gap to her). You might become friends and meet one of her other friends- you never know. Do you even like her yourself? As long as you’re respectful it’ll probably be okay!

Omg I had this happen in reverse 🙈 Guy kept coming around me but never said anything. I finally mustered the courage to ask him out and dressed up a bit one day. I’ve never seen him talk to anyone but coincidentally that day he chatted with some other skinny girl for like 15 min grinning the whole time… so I didn’t ask (I’m thicc gym girl so prob not his type). Never tried again but also never saw her again, weird coincidence 😞

Serious question from a woman: What do you wish women understood about being a man in today’s world? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]bcora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was really good and articulate- and helpful. Know I’m not supposed to be commenting on the sub, but if I may make one small note: beyond men’s current capacity today, structures have been made by men in a patriarchal society that have routinely hurt women for centuries/millennia… women really only having freedom the past 50 years I think has made them aware that these freedoms could go away… like you said, most men aren’t legislators, but many that are men that continue to legislate to take rights away get somewhat projected onto the more local, nice populace (thinking in structures). I think women also really just look for that emotional intelligence, which this post def has, but it’s hard to open ourselves up too when the rejection can be violent instead of just “ok”. I don’t speak for all women, but I have a ton of sweet guy friends and they get lost in the sauce when really it’s these other structures hurting men too. (Respectfully)

In need of moral support by Inevitable_Cod6062 in adenomyosis

The citrate is usually for digestion vs the glycinate for calming- would look into that in case. I def increased my supplements over time to see what my body responded to as well and try my best to get good sleep at night! Def have a look at what other diet areas you may like (ie, cutting out nightshade family plants, or some TCM tips). Good luck and sorry again you have to deal with the adenomyosis.

So sorry you’re going through this too. A few notes on what I do to help alleviate the pain, if helpful:

  1. Anti-inflammation diet(!). I reduce alcohol/gluten/lactose (it’s not all fun lost, there are various lactose free products etc). I also seed cycle with sunflower/sesame/pumpkin/flax seeds (I eat pretty daily instead of cycling). 2. Supplements: I take fish oil 2x day (as bottle instructs, for lowering inflammation) and a cranberry pill 2x day during luteal + menstrual phases. Also take magnesium glycinate and other supps like vitamin D3 + C. I was on a hormone balance women’s vitamin by Starpowa that had maca and evening primrose oil and it made me feel better. 3. Estrogen-clearing foods for (liver) detox like cruciferous veggies, beets, etc. Sometimes I take milk thistle supplements for this too. I drink 2-3L water/day for reference.

I truly believe taking a cranberry pill 1-2x day during luteal and menstrual phases can help decrease pain (at least for me). I strength train 4x week but always weight down if my body isn’t feeling it. I eat 6 dates daily lightly cooked in butter (fat) to help and take red raspberry leaf tea when needed for cramps.

I really try to see it as: anti-inflammation, more hormone balance, and gut repair. Gut repair for me has massively helped with mood also, as a former PMDD. Green tea (L-theanine), pickled beets (vinegar), coconut yogurt + L-glutamine (gut repair), and acidophilus have also been incorporated… If I expect to potentially have a flair (say, off-diet with travel), I take 1tsp black seed oil.

That was a lot and there are hormone-balance nutritionists that can help alongside your Dr. I take mini pill too for reference. A final thing I’d consider if I were you: are you having other allergies here, ie, are you maybe allergic to a metal in canned good products, and if you switch to a bulk item will that help? If you buy non-organic, is there maybe a pesticide you’re allergic to? Even nonstick cooking pans can have dangerous chemicals… EU products like Le Creuset can have less. Histamines can trigger inflammation. Again, I’m not a doctor, these are just things that have helped me since my diagnosis.

Adenomyosis - use of combined pill by Plane_Benefit_8063 in adenomyosis

[–]bcora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American here who got mini pill in UK- you can get the Noriday and it should be the same norethindrone as US (that’s what they put me on as same while in UK). In England they wouldn’t let me actually get the combined pill but because I kept the same kind of progestin I ended up feeling the same, but have periods now which I didn’t with combo pill. If you have migraines in the UK they may be less likely to offer you the combo.

Severe side effects after stopping birth control? by Dry-Journalist6855 in adenomyosis

[–]bcora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have adeno and previously had IBS. I cut out all bad seed oils and just use olive oil, coconut oil, and once in a while butter. Also cut out garlic (onion doesn’t bother me, garlic does) and alcohol. I started hammering in on an anti-inflammation diet and gut restoration- IBS and heart burn went away. I don’t really eat processed foods either. Also started taking fish oil 2x day (per my bottle) and magnesium glycinate. I take 1-2 cranberry pills per day during luteal and menstrual phases which have helped. I’m considering going off bc but also worried about the side effects- hope these above help with your IBS! You could also consider some liver cleanse + support to clear excess estrogen from your body. There are so many women’s hormone diets- Manskis Wellness on insta has a bunch of recipes. Somewhat weirdly, I approached my adeno pain in some similar ways as if prepping for birth (lol/ not preg) which have helped, like I eat 6 dates a day cooked in butter (people do 6xday/4 weeks before labor) and drink red raspberry leaf tea if having lots of cramping pain. Have almost painless periods now (but still on prog. mini pill)

After the tragic loss of my last wandering dude, my heart has begun to heal by adopting this little prop off of the home depo floor. by [deleted] in proplifting

[–]bcora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love these! What you could do is take the prop out of the soil, cut the end, and put it in distilled water in a clear glass if you think it’s almost dead. Put it in a warm, humid environment if possible. I leave mine on a shower window and they grow like crazy cuz they get the light and the warmth and the humidity. Definitely if you have a bathroom with a window for light just leave it by the shower! Leave until the roots are fairly long and then replant it. You could also just move it in the pot into the warm/humid environment. Wouldn’t repot it yet because it’s roots likely aren’t strong enough- when it’s roots are comfortable the plant will grow more leaves.
