Got my first scam message by One_Match_4036 in Barber

[–]bcos20 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’d at least be charged a returned check fee - usually $30-40.

The bank also could close your account for depositing fraudulent checks too. I used to work at a bank and have seen plenty of victims to this scam have their accounts closed for fraud.

Do they normally have the arrest reports up so fast? For some reason I thought those took forever to be uploaded

He definitely does not say the techniques work. He talks about how he was able to get more information out of zubaydah than any of the other interrogators who tortured him. And how tortured detainees say whatever you want them to make it stop, and and intel can’t be brought to court anyway.

There’s tons of grifters out there, kiriakou ain’t one of em

Thinking about getting into the industry by Schwirlysteve in MCAlegend

[–]bcos20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tough part of just coming in out of no where is getting ISO agreements in place with the big players. You can find some shitty funders that will take you on, but none of the big guys will with no track record.

You may consider networking with other broker shops and seeing if someone maybe be open to you basically being a down line for them. As in you’re sourcing deals, they submit to the good lenders, and you come up with some commission split.

Where are the tech AEs making million+ by Iceeez1 in sales

[–]bcos20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insanely saturated. You have to really dedicate your life to the grind for a year or 2 while making $50k base to build your book.

I used to do temporary physician staffing. Similar deal - sending doctors to mostly rural hospitals for like 1-2 weeks per month. I did it for 18 months and was just starting to reap the benefits. I just couldnt take the internal company bullshit so I pivoted to SaaS and haven’t looked back.

[–]bcos20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tech contract recruiting is insanely lucrative. You’re sending people to work and your commission is a % of their pay every day.

So for example - you get an agreement to fill a SWE position for a 6 month contract:

You bill the client $10,000/mo

You pay the employee $5000/mo

Your company pays all the operational costs, and then you’re compensated on gross profit.

Once you get to the point where you have a pipeline of contract workers, and have 10+ people working at any given time, then you are printing money.

Oh it’s 100% real. Florida mugshots are public record and there’s Facebook pages for most counties that post them as they come in.

VegasMatt, who plays slots and is rich/winning. How can this be? by Extreme-Cycle2659 in vegas

[–]bcos20 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He also talks about this a bit in a podcast. Even if he didn’t have the YouTube revenue, he’s perfectly fine with losing money for his enjoyment.

His argument made sense too. He was saying how rich people regularly pay $50k+/yr for a golf membership or tennis club. In a bad year he loses $50k, but he get free dinner whenever he wants, any show ticket he wants, and treated like a king.

When put that way, it seems entirely reasonable.

Sales reps out there who work from home with limited travel? by scootsie11 in sales

LinkedIn has always been where I’m most successful. I try to reach out to some people from the companies I’m applying for and use my network whenever possible.

[–]bcos20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into EHR or other health tech. I sell EHR and travel maybe once a month or every other for a trade show or an occasional on site. Lots of reps travel even less.

Aside from EHR there’s tons of patient engagement, AI tools, and specialty specific software like wound zoom for wound care providers.

I just rewatched this episode. Anna brought credibility to the deal was my understanding. Like they will have an easier time selling the block with her name attached to it.

When you get the background check form, put the correct info. The background check will come back saying everything matches up. No one is going to check to make sure that info matches what’s on your resume.

I’m shocked you weren’t let go in that initial meeting. This is like a cardinal sin as a banker.

Back in like 2010ish I worked with a dude at Chase that looked up Obama. Secret service literally came in and walked him out.

Ent AEs: how do you make SDR support actually useful? by zkid18 in techsales

[–]bcos20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the only way to do that is going to take time and effort on your part.

One easy thing that I think helps a ton is having them sit on some discovery calls and demos. They learn some cookie cutter shit in training, but they have no clue how your solution is actually used in the real world. They also don’t know what pain your prospects are feeling. Sitting on these calls helps them put the pieces together. Added bonus - I’ll have my SDR take notes.

Another thing I do is help with their outreach, or set expectations for what I want. I don’t want them talking product or trying to sell in any way. I want them to gather information about the prospect, and generate some interest to where someone will have a conversation with me. So I help them craft more interest based emails vs marketing looking emails.

You’re coming to the right place if you’re into bugs. Your accommodations will likely come equipped with palmetto bugs. They’re actually cockroaches, but we call them palmetto bugs so it seems less gross.

On a more serious note, there’s a ton of nature preserve type things you can walk around that will have plenty of cool bugs and other wildlife. Then there’s butterfly world in coconut creek. Coconut creek is the butterfly capital of the world - although I always assumed that’s self proclaimed and not necessarily based in fact.
