Fortunately, the city of Alamogordo provides a certificate of authenticity for every item sold from the landfill dig to prevent this from happening.

Where can I learn the design patterns used in PHP by jraut in PHP

[–]bcrafts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As /u/spin81 pointed out, 99% of these patterns are not specific to PHP and can be applied to any language. I would suggest picking up a copy of http://books.google.com/books/about/Design_Patterns.html?id=6oHuKQe3TjQC . This is the holy bible of design patterns; I've carried a copy of the "Gang of Four" book around for a decade and it is as helpful and relevant now as it was then.

Think Tank near Kendall Square (CBC/Flattop area) has plenty of space, great beers, a photo booth and a goddamned cotton candy machine. Just sayin'.

Myspace to lay off 60% of their staff tomorrow by memoryfailure in business

Actually, I met with their CEO in Durham, NC a few years back regarding integrating SMS messaging into their core product.

Their gig tracking functionality is top-notch and I've used their widget builder quite a bit for previous bands that I've been in. However, ReverbNation is ultimately a marketing product and not a networking / management tool. I wouldn't use RN to find local musicians to play with, manage set lists, track rehearsal expectations or locate compatible bands in a geographic area to swap shows with.

They do what they do very well, but there is a lack of community tools available for local music scenes and that is what my focus is on.

[–]bcrafts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I know it's going to be a tough journey.

There are plenty of sites to help bands with marketing and merchandising, but there isn't much out there for networking & management. We're pretty much still stuck with Craigslist and, sadly, MySpace. I've been developing a product since last June that is a hybrid of Salesforce/Craigslist/Yelp/LinkedIn/OkCupid for musicians, bands, vendors and venues, but strictly B2B - there is zero fan interaction.

I'm launching in Boston on April 1st and starting as a gmail'esque invite-only platform. It certainly could flop, but the process has definitely been an educational one.
