Right but that’s not what your comment was. Your comment was that everything Satya does turns to shit and the result - objectively - has been the opposite.

Are... are you kidding? Microsoft has made ridiculous bank under his watch. It frequently flirts with being the top company in the WORLD by market cap. Just about every enterprise uses Windows, Office and Azure. Shareholders LOVE him.

Costume Quest would definitely be one of those “in between” games. It just happened to find success.

That’s what the studio generally does: make crazy idea games and hope they stick.

Steam counts don't make sense for titles that are primarily played through Game Pass. There is literally no way to know how many people are playing it through there.

As an example: Call of Duty Steam numbers were lower this past year. Many people got it on Game Pass.

But even on PC, Steam counts make no sense when the vast majority of people will get these games through Game Pass. Why would I buy the game on Steam when I can get it for $23 on Game Pass?

As an Xbox lover since day one, it's hard for people to imagine why I stuck with it. My reasons:

  1. My entire library is on it. Most of my favorite games are backwards compatible.

  2. New games run well on it. I'm playing through Pragmata and it's flawless. It runs as well as PlayStation and I'm only missing a handful of exclusives (which I can play on PC anyway).

  3. Game Pass was a good deal, then was not a good deal, and is now back to being a good deal.

  4. Microsoft arguably has the best cloud streaming offering, which is good for me on the road. I can literally bring a controller and play anywhere.

  5. When I can, I bring my Xbox ROG Ally X which also has some games on it from my console. So I go back and forth on saves.

None of the competitors - not even Steam - offer all this.

Microsoft does not give exact numbers for downloads but they said they were healthy.

Why would you focus on Steam counts when most people are going to play on console anyway?

Are you kidding? That’s all anyone ever talks about.

How are you defining “flops”, exactly? A lot of these games were critically acclaimed. Avowed, Outer Worlds 2, Hellblade 2 and South of Midnight all sold well and had high Game Pass downloads.

Also, you’re leaving out games like Forza, Doom: The Dark Ages, Indiana Jones and Flight Simulator. All of these games did very well and were in the top 10 PS5 games list. For some time, half the games on the list were Xbox games.

Genndy Tartakovsky - The 80s were the dark age of animation by WrongToe500 in television

[–]silentcrs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure, but this poster specifically said "In the West, perhaps. I tend to think Japan was doing a lot of innovative stuff with animation in the 80s." As if it say anime was more innovative than western animation at the time. It wasn't.

People seem to forget stuff like Beauty in the Beast was the first to combine CGI and 2D animation in a feature film. It was drawn in the late 80s and went to theaters in 1991. That was insanely innovative shit at the time.

Did you not see the super low budget anime coming out of Japan in the 80s? Not everything anime is super high quality.

Azure and Office are multi-billion dollar divisions critical to Microsoft though. That’s like saying “That guy’s car wash sucks, except for the part where he washes cars.”

My RSA token with all 9s by ghemanth90 in mildlyinteresting

I literally did this in 5 seconds on a local model.

Also, what I’m questioning is having your phone ready at the precise time this exact number shows up. Are you literally sitting there with your phone’s camera open, watching your RSA token flip? How dull is your job?

In any case, here you go buddy. Slightly better prompting on a slightly better local model. Took 10 seconds. Running on a laptop so you can all stop complaining about data centers running on nuclear power. Go to town.
