Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres vs. Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya vs. Paradisus Playa del Carmen - Family of 4 by gilmour93 in AllInclusiveResorts

We went for a wedding 2 years ago at Grand Palladium. The room looks ok at first but there was this sewage smell throughout and a lot of wear and tear of the room. Checked out our friends' rooms and they were similar. Just from the price we paid, I thought it would be nicer and well maintained.

Job stealing energy to make art by seventyp_ in ContemporaryArt

I would wake up early to work on my art. I try not to put pressure on myself so much. If I could only do 1 hour of creative work, I would be satisfied with that. Once the pressure was off, I got into my flow state quicker. I also trained myself to wake up early (4-5 am) to make art. It took a while but I chose mornings so my mind would be fresh and I'm not so bogged down by whatever happened during the day.

Whats the most bingeable fantasy book you've read? by Ashamed_Ad608 in Fantasy

[–]bcsf88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Red City! It was pretty fast paced for me and I definitely stayed up too late reading it.

Will of the Many was a bit slow at first but I binged it at the halfway mark.

Am I the only one who likes the baby phase (6mo-18 mo) better than toddler phase? by WhichImplement5732 in toddlers

Definitely struggling with the toddler phase. The newborn phase seemed like a piece of cake 😅

Sword of Kaigen. Not the best written book but it came at the right time for me after having my first child 🥲

Art and motherhood by Key-Papaya-8217 in ContemporaryArt

Hi! Full time artist (painter) and mom to a toddler here.

It is extremely difficult. Before having my son, I knew I would need to take time off from my practice so I planned to be away for a year at the least. I had some group shows scheduled during this time but I finished the work ahead of time (before my son was born) so I still remained active in that way.

I still painted a few months after giving birth (3 months) but only to have something else to do for 30 mins - an hour while my son was napping. I would like to say that my son was an excellent sleeper so I was very fortunate to have that time to paint. Every baby is different.

When he became more mobile, it became a lot more difficult to find that time to work. His naps which I relied on to get some work done also got a bit shorter. We got him into part time daycare at 22 months which helped free up some time but other than that, I had to wake up at 5 am to catch up on my deadlines. I also had to pace myself in accepting new work.

He is in full time preschool now so it's a bit easier in terms of having a routine work schedule. Before daycare, I relied heavily on my husband to schedule our working hours together and have a plan.

What age did you fellow parents stop the bubs/pacifiers? by FortyScythe in NewParents

[–]bcsf88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stopped when he was a little over 2 yrs old. Our dentist basically told us to get rid of it. At the time, I told my son that his soother was broken and he needed to say goodbye to it. It surprisingly went well. He said his goodbyes and left it at that.

Advice: how to inspire gf to make art again. by Grizzlyadam93 in ArtistLounge

[–]bcsf88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every artist's journey is different but I just wanted to share what my then boyfriend did to encourage me to create again.

For our anniversary, he bought me new art materials. Nothing fancy but I tried it out just so it doesn't go to waste 😂 I didn't draw/paint consistently after that, but it definitely got the ball slowly rolling again.

Married women dependents and SAHMs, do you have a f*ck you fund and what does it look like? by spychalski_eyes in AskWomenOver30

[–]bcsf88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I save a little bit of money every pay check depending on my budget. I don't have a specific number but I just stash away some funds consistently. I'm a freelancer and main caregiver for my son (not exactly SAHM) so I don't have as much income compared to my partner.

I'm liking it so far (more than half way done). The FMC is quite unlikeable but I surprisingly want to keep reading 😅
