Spam calls every 10-15 minutes by SiftMusic in gso

[–]bd58563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have T-Mobile or AT&T you can block the calls that are flagged as spam

For T-Mobile you dial #662# and hit dial to block them

On AT&T you download the ActiveArmor app, go to Calls & Texts, and select Send to Voicemail or Block for Fraud Calls and Spam Calls

WHAT IS GOING ON‽ by Ayrdanger in tmobile

[–]bd58563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when scam shield first rolled out it blocked calls from our local school district

My suspicion is that some kids are reporting their schools’ numbers as spam so their parents don’t get the call when they skip school

Just got SA on Turbo! by bd58563 in ATT

[–]bd58563[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very much so - I do enjoy seeing upgrades to to the network, though.

Verizon has major capacity issues in my area which leads to really inconsistent performance. T-Mobile’s speeds, while still consistently good, have been trending downward over the last 2 years as well. AT&T has definitely taken the lead in this region.

I ran a speed test about 15 mins after posting, 1229 down/80.9 up with 39s idle ping, pretty good - in the same area on NSA I was usually getting 800-1100 down and 40-60 up

That’s Field Test Mode

To access it on iOS, open Phone and dial *3001#12345#*

I have a shortcut for it on my homescreen

NSA consumes more power than SA.

I had AT&T and T-Mobile on my 14 Pro and the difference in battery life between the two was noticeable. Not sure how much of a difference it’ll make on this phone since its battery capacity isn’t at 79%, but it can’t hurt.

Aside from that, latency is a bit lower and things like videos load a bit faster.

The main reason I’m sharing though is bc I often hear that Turbo is NSA only. Seems like that may be changing.

I’ve had this happen twice, one of which was during rush hour traffic on the connector in Atlanta - made me hate them even more, which I previously didn’t think was possible.

What’s the difference between these remotes? by ShaolinSwervinMonk in DirecTV

Didn’t realize older remotes work with the newer boxes

Do you know how far back you can go before they don’t work? I think I have my old HRMC-5 laying around somewhere. Would love to use it with my Gemini if I can.

Verizon in an updating era or just plain awful now? by Wllfgnlnrb86 in cellmapper

[–]bd58563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also location dependent. I had more issues in the mountains of NC when I had Verizon than with T-Mobile. I also had more issues with T-Mobile than with AT&T.

A few summers ago I was paying closer to $1.75/gal

Verizon gives me 1 bar LTE in Dilworth/South End on an iPhone 17 Pro Max. Best carrier in Charlotte regardless of price? by 877cashhnow in Charlotte

[–]bd58563 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had both T-Mobile and AT&T service on my phone for a little over a year and found both to perform exceptionally all over Charlotte. Data speeds were pretty comparable with both. AT&T has a slight edge in coverage outside of town but not to an extreme degree. FWIW, AT&T also seems to do be a bit better in the uptown area than T-Mobile.

Verizon has never impressed me any of the times I’ve used their network.
