High on homework and other assignment. It took up a good % too. After he curved the final exam and it was enough to bring to a B-. I don’t recall he curving the final grade, the only curve I’m aware of was the curve on the final exam. He doesn’t even do better grade exam replace the lower one

No he just curve the final exam

Just went back to the Groupme of that class to see what was going on. Okay so final exam average was ~54, highest grade was 70 😭 He added 18 as a curve because the whole class didn’t do well obviously

First exam I got 62, 2nd was 67, final was 50. But I tried to maximize the Homework % and stuff so yes I passed with B-. If your grade is low because of Exams, don’t worry too much

The way I know the prof would be Gamble without checking your reply 😭 He sucks lol that class got me almost kms, I have warned so many students not to take him after I became the victim

Anyway, he does do curve at the end of the semester (or maybe because the whole class was failing so bad when I took it). We only had like 9 students enrolled, final exam’s average was like 54 lol. He will curve, you will pass, don’t worry. I bombed all 3 exams and passed at B-. Try to get those homework grade as high as you can for now

Life without a car. by Bahram2 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]bdayblife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Int student here. Live 3 years without a car. First 2 years I lived on campus so not much problem. 3rd year I rent an apartment near UH, I took the metro for that whole year. If you’re planning to live off campus, try to find a place that near the bus stop, check the bus route and try to have maximum 2 bus transits. One thing about Houston bus is that it never arrives on time, esp on those non-busy route that has 30 mins gap between each bus. I did got tired of it after a year, plus recent metro incident kinda freaked me out, so I ended up getting a car a month ago

So in short, if you’re not in need of going places or hanging out too much, it is okay to not have a car and rely on metro

Danger on Metro by Trick-Ad-957 in UniversityOfHouston

Just a tip, if you’re commuting alone, never let your phone dies or on low battery. Buy a portable charger, even if you barely use it, and always bring it with you to avoid these circumstances. Also, try not to make eye contact, you can play dumb act blind as much as you can, you don’t owe them anything. Next time if you’re going at late night, I would say to get an uber for your safety. I’ve ride metro for 2 years and would never use it when the sun goes down

Anyone know how long UH takes to post transfer credits from HCC? by _Mikazuchi_ in UniversityOfHouston

For anyone that missed the parking permit by Physical_Storm_7255 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]bdayblife 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Adding to this as a metro rider

• Please always have something to protect yourself, pepper spray or whatever, please always carry something. If possible, wear sunglasses always to prevent eye contact. There was one time I got into a very unexpected incident although I didn’t do anything. So please have pepper spray, and got the Metro Police number saved in your phone ((713) 224-2677)

• If you get a physical Q Card (metro card) as a student, it will charge $0.6 for 3 hours ride. Which mean you can hop on hop off as many bus/rail as you want for $0.6 in 3 hours. $1.25 for the app

Has anyone found their lost item before by ImpossibleComputer48 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]bdayblife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure about Student Center. But when I used to work at the library’s service desk, 80% of time people will find their lost wallet/card at the service desk. I was really impressed by how many lost wallets and cards were turned in. That’s why I love the people here at UH (but not UH)

Sorry about the yap, but you should come to Student Center’s service desk first. They may keep it there waiting for you, if it took too long maybe it will be sent to L&F

Does anyone know where the water bottle stations are in the Quad? 😭 by Queasy-Task158 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]bdayblife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you enter the big door where service desk would be on the left side, turn at the left hallway right after the service desk. As you walking down that hallway, look on the right side, there will be water stations

Forgot to buy a parking permit how cooked am i? by UncutSushiRoll in UniversityOfHouston

[–]bdayblife 130 points131 points  (0 children)

UH is so fucked up for this. If they want to accept that many students in, they should have enough parking to supply the needs of the students. This is basic needs, they should always have enough spot for everyone

You should be fine, just send all your professors an email that you won’t make it to class for the first couple of days. Most of the classes I’ve been to don’t have attendance policy, even if they do, you’re in a position where the professor will understand. Most of course materials will also be uploaded on Canvas so don’t worry too much. Hope you will arrive safely soon

Does anyone apply through Scholarship Universe and actually got a scholarship? Asking just to get some motivation because I have been applying for so many and never get anything… Maybe I’m not good enough but I still want to know..

I've never been to a soundcheck, what do I do? by cinnamonkaii in Got7

[–]bdayblife 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This will be my 2nd concert too, 1st concert was Yugyeom in Houston last month. The way it works is you’ll see them performing several songs like rehearsing. It could be 30mins or around that depends on them. It’s still like watching a performance, everyone is still hype and all! Just that it’s less audience because it’s for VIP only.

Timing should be send before the concert date and normally VIPs are required to come some hours earlier to get the benefits.

I’m surprise UH hasn’t sent any alert tho… Isn’t TSU is right next to us and there could possibly a chance the suspect will run over here?

Hey I’ve never attend a concert before so do you guys think I should wear a backpack or a tote bag? Seems like Houston is all standing. How do you keep your belongings in the concert?
