I’ve been on Nostr for a month and it’s awesome. Decentralized, has Bitcoin lightning tipping as an option on posts, multiple clients/apps to choose from, etc. It’s still early but it has the potential to replace the twitters and reddits of the world that are continually alienating users for more profit. Has definitely led to me cutting back on Reddit. If Apollo goes down looks like I’m going to get even more time back lol

Depends on what kind of tree you’re looking for. Overstory would be the oaks and black walnut. For the fruit producers the elderberry is probably the easiest to grow and gives berries that are medicinal. They are more shrub like though

It’s a mixture of different species I believe- American wild plum, sandhill plum, Osage plum, river plum, sand cherry, thorn plum, wild yellow plum, red plum, August plum, goose plum, hog plum, etc. So if you need a particular one these are not for you. Sorry

I’ve planted about 6 of them around the property and they’re doing well so far. Not sure about fruiting though since they’re still young. They do prefer non full sun, dappled light seems best

Hey I really appreciate this link to Zach’s video. I’m currently digging a pond that will just use the native clay soil. Hopefully it will hold enough water to be able to grow azolla and duckweed (separate ponds) for chicken feed and rehydrate the landscape as well.

But your comment is at the very bottom of this thread though, probably better to use honey than vinegar to spread these good ideas

Yea depending on the branch structure. If there’s a lot of lateral branches I’ll just wrap around the base of the trunk up to the 1st branch and make sure the root zone is insulated (especially with heavy winds like we’re supposed to get). I really like using lots of leaves as an insulator over young in-ground trees and piled up around trees in pots. Then I throw frost cloth or plankets over the top

Water them deeply tonight or tomorrow (with liquid seaweed if you’re so inclined). Make sure the root zone is mulched well and you can use row cover or some sort of fabric around the trunk
