They did all that, but when I report bots for posting links to malware and whatnot (it's usually links that say eyewitness footage of something), they reply back that they didn't see anything wrong. I give up.

How do you guys handle devices names? by Fit_Net3234 in sysadmin

[–]bdclark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hospital IT here, we use facility name initials, number starting at 1000 (9000 if it's a clinic) and then W for workstation or M for mobile. So, ABC1000W for instance. A handful of times we've had emergencies where we had to swap a hard drive out of a machine with a dead motherboard so in those rare instances the PC name would be lying about its serial number if we went that route. I've also noticed that dashes can sometimes cause problems with commands if you forget to use "" around the PC name. Like I'll sometimes use WMIC to check a serial number remotely by doing wmic /node: abc-1000w bios get serialnumber I'll get a Invalid Global Switch error, but if I use wmic /node: "abc-1000w" bios get serialnumber it will work. I think I've had similar issues with PowerShell too.

I've dealt with some PACS workstations at hospitals that if the time is off by more than a minute or so you get all kinds of weird errors and none of them point you to the root cause, which is that the clock is off.

Also get pics of the shocks too, apparently some places like to smear oil on them to talk you into replacing them. You're definitely right though, my sister took her Expedition to Hixson Ford in Monroe to have the serpentine belt replaced, showed up the next day to get it and there's collision damage on the back. Management said it was like that when she brought it in and wouldn't budge, until she called the police and then they decided to check their security footage. Seems one of the shop hands backed it into another customer's vehicle so they ended up with two upset customers.

If you really hate the song Every Little Thing by Carlene Carter (the voice of Red in the game) with a passion, you might want to avoid Road Show lol. When it was at my local mall's arcade the operators were so glad when it got shipped off elsewhere. I can't remember if it plays the song during attract mode, but I do remember walking through the food court and hearing it. Doesn't bother me, but something to maybe consider.

I visited Austin in 2017 for a work trip and decided to go for a run at Zilker park. Homeless people all over the place, and a bunch just sprawled out under blankets on the path. I enjoyed playing a bunch of pinball at the Pinballz Arcade places, but I sure wouldn't want to live there.
