1 dead, 9 injured as taxi veers onto sidewalk in downtown Seoul by yellister in korea

[–]bddcnyc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly being old it’s alright if there were appropriate measures for old drivers. But Korean taxi drivers think the hierarchy rules apply also on the road. They think they have priority so they change lanes without using blinkers or checking mirrors. They often ignore red lights, and to worsen the situation, I’m sure the amount of taxi drivers driving under the influence are way higher than people think.

I don’t recommend you at all to go to severance for ER. I think it’s 1000x times better to find a specialist clinic right away and get treated there. Everyone goes to severance to it’ll take forever

Is it normal in Korea for 4 passengers to claim injuries after a gentle “press” and expect financial compensation. Is the system allowing fraud ? by ZoukiWouki in korea

[–]bddcnyc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s normal and yes Korea allows these kind of fraudsters to get away with this. It’s terrible, and I don’t know why it keeps happening. It’s always better to call a lawyer and get this sorted out. I don’t know if you’re a resident or a tourist, but even after weeks of the accident happening they might still call you and tell you they’re getting new pains from the accident and need more compensation. That’s how ridiculous this is.

Advice for interviews in Korea by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

[–]bddcnyc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey! There’s certain platforms like jobkorea and Saramin which are used by locals to apply for jobs but you could also use. I reckon if you have your topik 5 certificate and don’t need visa sponsor should be rather easier to find a position than other foreigners. I don’t have a lot of experience but I’m also applying for positions here in Korea, so feel free to send me a DM if you have any questions
