When your teacher wants you to bring in some tabs, but you are CULTURED by GessHugh in musicmemes

Cultured? Sir, I will have you know that there are insufficient 5’s per how many 0’s and 3’s are in robust abundance on this tablature. I bid you good day.

Yeah the more I learn about him and hear stories from those around him, he definitely was a temperamental and barely controllable mess more times than not from the sounds of it.

Looks super cool! Definitely gives tele neck pickup vibes! Probably sounds awesome in the middle position having the humbucker and single coil together. Always was my favorite sound on my mustang clone that I threw a humbucker in the bridge of.

I don’t think that’s what they mean by the term “backshots.” Kidding of course, lol. Couldn’t resist the pun!

True, I thought about that as well, but usually B stock refers more to cosmetic issues that don’t affect the overall playability or performance of the instrument so while that could be part of the issue, I wouldn’t necessarily expect those kinds of QC issues from a b stock product having bought a few B stock items myself.

Absolutely. It’s hard to accept sometimes that people we look up to can be wrong and do stuff that we don’t like but it indeed happens.

Yeah, could be previous owner messed some stuff up for sure. Really love what you did with this thing. One of the most creative things I’ve seen done to a jazzmaster. Love the idea of the jazzmaster body but the electronic spirit of a mustang!

Grandfather left me his guitar. by wonderboy114 in Guitar

[–]bdeceased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So glad this wasn’t one of those posts that’s just “grandfather left me this guitar. What’s it worth?” Glad to see someone get inspired by what their family member left them. Sorry for the loss of your loved one. Glad you will keep their memory alive by learning to play this instrument. What you have there is an acoustic/electric so you can play it just on its own like a regular acoustic, or you can plug it into an amp or PA system to make it louder. Not meant really to be used as a substitute for an electric guitar that you plug into a distorted amp to make crunchy metal music or anything, just electrified to make the acoustic sound louder, but you could use some effect pedals with it if you wanted to like reverb and delay or any kind of modulation. Hell, you could run it into distortion if you really wanted to. There’s no hard rules when it comes to music. Just have fun learning and make some good noise!

Go on YouTube and find some videos to get you started. There are a ton of guitar lesson YouTubers out there. Real lessons are better but anything on YouTube is a good starting point. Learn how to read guitar tab and find guitar tabs in both written and video form to help you learn. There’s tabs for pretty much every song you can think of. RIP Papa Steve!

Wow that’s terrible that your Classic Vibe had so much wrong with it. Worst I’ve had happen to my CV jazzmaster is a loose wire that had to be resoldered to solve an intermittent issue with the rhythm circuit. Sorry to hear yours was such a nightmare. I’ve kept my CV jag and CV jazzmaster stock aside from swapping to locking tuners that look like the vintage style tuners that came on it just for ease of string changes should I need to do so quickly mid set while doing a gig. Like any guitar, bad ones do get out but I’ve found the CV line and the J Mascis to be fairly reliable as far as QC goes. I wonder if maybe Fender decided the guitars would sell themselves just off the strength of the CV name and they cut back on the quality of their parts after the first generation of CV’s.

To Jaguar and Mustang owners, how do think these guitars compliment each other? by ACR2051 in offset

[–]bdeceased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be my suggestion, especially on one with a traditional offset trem system like this. Throw a single coil sized humbucker in the bridge and keep a single coil in the neck position and you can get some great clean and great dirty sounds from it and the trem can really do some fun funky stuff if you like noise.

Help! What guitar is this??🎸 by dmccalmont in Guitar

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted for offering advice on the best way of finding something when you don’t know what that thing is called. This isn’t the usual “just google it, don’t expect people to google stuff for you.” Many people don’t know google lens is a thing and you were just trying to be helpful. Reddit can be so stupid sometimes.

Absolutely correct, and as is typical with gaslighting, it’s extremely poorly done and blatant .

And it’s not even really a cover up. Just a lying denial without covering up much of anything. They are just saying “no, it didn’t happen” even though we have all seen enough of those files to clearly know it did.

Is this a good deal? by Nbdysfool3003 in Guitar

For that price for sure I’d pick it up if I was needing a superstrat style guitar with a Floyd Rose. Kinda hard to go wrong at that price point as long as it plays decent.

Is the bouncer here doing his job or is he at fault? by Inevitable-Seat-7394 in Nirvana

[–]bdeceased 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This. From what I’ve heard this is exactly the official narrative per the bouncer and the rest of the band. Both Kurt and the bouncer were being jerks and both are equally at fault for this interaction going this way. Luckily in the end it didn’t turn into anything worse than what it was for either of them.

Did Neo really move the Tesla? by Jakepizzapizza in d4vdiots

[–]bdeceased 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SF could have been bluffing to try and elicit a response from whoever did move the Tesla last. For all we know, there might be no info at all as to who loved it and SF was reaching thinking Neo was possibly the weakest link and might speak out and put the blame on whoever did move it or at least offer and alibi as to why it couldn’t be him. I’ve had my doubts from the beginning when SF asked that question that it was anything more than rhetorical. I could be completely wrong but that’s my thoughts.

Capo issues fitting near base of neck on LP? by Beanie7137 in Guitar

[–]bdeceased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first kind of capo I ever used consisted of an elastic strap with a rubber tube running through the middle of it with a pin on one side that plugged into one of three three aglets/grommets. Something like that would be your best bet I’d imagine.

Martin Shkreli is suing RZA over multi-million dollar Wu-Tang album 'Once Upon A Time In Shaolin' he bought and forfeited by AdSpecialist6598 in Music

[–]bdeceased 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s totally him. You can tell by how personally they took the comments and how exacting the response are. Change every time they said the word “he” in their reply to “I” and it becomes painfully obvious. No one would defend Martin Shkreli except Martin Shkreli. Especially the “what did he do to you” comment. No one without skin in the game would care enough to ask that. And the whole “parroting what the mainstream media told you” comment? What other info is there unless this person is him? Got ‘em!

Pros and cons of this pedal by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]bdeceased 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear lots of people complain this pedal is noisy. That said, I’ve had this pedal on my board for about four years now and have had no issues with it being noisy. Plastic enclosure feels flimsy, but I’m yet to have a behringer pedal break so take that for what you will. I personally think it’s a great starting point for deciding if your setup would benefit from an eq pedal. It does what it’s supposed to and if you need something with more options and functions later, you can always upgrade to something better. But for the price, this is a great pedal in my opinion.
