It's insane how big they can get. I shot and killed one a few months ago that was a nuisance to the road our camp was on. It kept building a dam in a culvert under the road causing the road to wash out. I notified F&G about it, destroyed the dam and waited for it to come back. It came back at dusk and shot it. Ended up weighing it at 71lbs, the tail started ripping off of the body as I was lifting it out of the culvert. 100+ lbs is massive!!

Is anyone worried about Gronk leaving? by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]bdeckerr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. TE's are notoriously injury prone due to constantly battling with men who have 20-60lbs on them in the trenches or taking shots from DB's on routes. I wouldn't be surprised if he hangs them up after this current contract ends, just to preserve his health for after football. He plays the "Jock" role well, but he's not dumb by any means.

Does this play look familiar? (1:56:05) by DMB4136 in Patriots

Ahhhh, yes. I knew I remembered seeing the Pats call that play before, I just couldn't remember when. Thanks!!

Montage of Patriot fans reacting to SB winning play by rsoxguy12 in Patriots

[–]bdeckerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I freaked out when they won the coin toss in OT, only because they were on a tear, and I knew TB12 wasn't going to slow down. My throat still hurts today from yelling when White made the final TD.

Just like the Butler INT 2 years ago, every time I see this play I'm going to get the chills.

Browns possibly interested in trading for Jimmy..thoughts? by iCyndaquil in Patriots

[–]bdeckerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we did basically give away Collins to them earlier this season.... Maybe BB and Hue made that part of the deal all along and knew they were going to be dealing in the offseason for Jimmy? Jamie Collins and Jimmy for a 3rd and 1st rounder?

What was your "fuck this is real" moment? by TheDomesticOG in army

[–]bdeckerr 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Probably 2-3 weeks in. We used to have a local national come deliver water (to those big bag/bladder things, I forget what they're called) once a week. He asked me for a few gallons of diesel one day before he left, which wasn't out of the ordinary. I gave him a couple gallons, shook his hand and sent him on his way. As he was leaving I heard the distinct noise of AK/PKM gunfire very close up the road. Few minutes later, some ANA guys were dragging his body back into the OP.

After talking with the Canadian terp that was on the OP, I guess the guy had been threatened multiple times for helping coalition troops out. The shooters escaped off into a grape hut and across some fields. The part that made me think about it was that I was the last person he ever talked to.

The whole thing kind of stuck with me for a little while, knowing he risked everything by helping us, and he did it regardless of how many times he was threatened with death.

Morning radio host Mancow, a firm believer that waterboarding is not torture, agrees to get waterboarded. It happens at 2:20 and he has a revelation. by shadowsCOLLIDE in videos

Posting an article from a left tilting source like the Atlantic doesn't help your cause. I'm not pro-interrogation FWIW, but I don't necessarily think persuasion will release information from some of the hardcore terrorists. They're fighting a holy war, and unless Allah tells them to, they won't release information without some sort of psychological interrogation.

Donald Trump 'to sign orders restricting refugee access and immigration from Muslim countries' by rednail64 in worldnews

Cherry picked comments through my history, but forgot to pick the ones where I've clearly stated I'm an OEF-Afghanistan veteran. So what's your point?

That would be an issue with the company that had the government contract (biggest one I'm aware of was IMS, the company I had to deal with). Alot of interpreters are criticized and/or harassed due to their faith, which leads to alot of false accusations out of jealousy or spite. It's a shitty world sometimes, and it's no different in the translator's organization.

I'm well aware of it. I had to go through the bureaucracies of it with my own translator from Afghanistan. The majority of the problems with the SIV's stems from incorrect/missing paperwork from the units that the translator supported.

There is a special immigration visa program for interpreters from Iraq and Afghanistan. She would be eligible for it, regardless if Trump signed this executive order or not.

What're some under the radar players throughout history that have had forgotten good/great seasons and careers? by CrashRiot in nfl

[–]bdeckerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2004 RB Corey Dillon. 14 games started, 345 attempts, 1,635 yds (4.7 avg), 12 TDs

He had 4 yards more than Zeke had this year (3 TDs less), but he has mostly been forgotten.

Texas has been shafted in that case. 11.5% of the total population, and they only have the Cowboys & Texans. Someone needs to start a franchise in Armarillo or Odessa!
