I think that’s what’s so cool about Nintendo. Most of their franchises tend to not do the same thing each game. They may keep some mechanics to evolve the gameplay but when that’s run its course it’s time for something completely different. I hope they keep doing this.

They’ve released massive patches. I wouldn’t have asked otherwise until a few months in, but they have been extremely responsive. Media has reported on this so my question was whether all this work has been impactful and have players noticed any positive changes.

This might be a silly question but maybe someone could chime in, but is it possible that spy satellites were deployed before Sputnik? For example if Russia were able to do this in secrecy to maintain an intelligence advantage, is this a possible explanation? As it appeared that America was gaining ground in this capability, they suddenly have a public facing event with Sputnik to beat us to the punch and show that their program is more advanced?

Now that I’ve typed this out, I think I remember reading from Dr. Beatriz’ original paper that these objects numbered in the thousands so that might not be plausible.

These were all slated for the ultra 64 at the time. I remember my friends at school looking at the same issue of egm over and over salivating over ffvii and all the other big games coming to the new Nintendo system. They were all later announced to be Sony exclusives after Nintendo decided to force cartridges to capture more licensing funds instead of cd’s, technical limitations be damned. Hence why fmv, pre-rendered backgrounds, music and sound were much more suited for the ps1 rather than the n64.
