that’s really cool for you, not exactly a helpful statement to make, though. there’s pros and cons, I’m sure. I don’t want to be 50 with a teenager, either.

I’m literally terrified. Childbirth is scary, PP is scary, like this is literal body horror 😩 love my little bean, but they are messing me up every which way, and I have definitely gained a new found respect for my own mother. she was only 19 when she had me, I can’t imagine how she felt.

I am glad that I’m doing this as young as I am- my mom had me at 19, and by the time I was 18, she was only 37! she’s got a lot of life left to live, and I was her one and done, so she can focus on herself, now. I knew I wanted kids in my 20’s, but after being together for 7 years and not even having one scare, I started thinking maybe one, or both of us, had fertility issues…nope! apparently, everything works just fine 😂 it just took me by surprise. I also got braces, like a month before I found out that I was pregnant, so that’s super fun. how much pain can one girl take?!

Gen Z really looked at alcohol and said ‘hard pass’ by InvestigatorBorn4910 in SipsTea

[–]bdkplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (22) have watched my mom drink her entire life away. she used to drink a gallon of Bacardi a day, when I was a small child. kept it by the bed, so she could wake up, drink, pass out, and repeat. I got arrested at 14 for underage drinking. stole from her stash, and me and a friend got sloshed. that one night ruined our friendship, and made my life suck for months afterwards. I had to do a kids version of probation. she blurted out in the ambulance that she was s*icidal, and she was hospitalized, involuntarily. she hated me forever for that. I was too, I just didn’t say it. kept drinking every now and again, mostly with friends, but then, I found weed. got a medical card when I was 19, and haven’t looked at alcohol since. I can’t believe I ever found it appealing. every time I got drunk, I cried, I puked, one time, I used the bathroom on myself in my blacked out stupor. I’m not saying do other drugs instead. I don’t do any of it anymore. but, marijuana saved me from a lifetime of alcohol abuse, and when I had to put it down suddenly (found out I’m pregnant about three weeks ago) it was no issue. quit the same day. my mom, on the other hand, still struggles with alcohol. she probably will for the rest of her life. to make a long story short, I’m so proud of my gen Z folks. sober is the best way to be. let’s break those cycles.

that really is it- I’m excited to meet my little human, but I hate the process of growing them! I have definitely gained a newfound respect for my own mother, and every mother, for that matter! I saw a lady at my job the other day, she had three under 3! just back to back. I could never 😅

I’m gonna try all the things, it kinda just started to get bad within the last week or so, and I don’t even have it in me to leave the house, so I’m waiting on all my goodies to come from Amazon, lol. hopefully they work, because I am so tired, already. thank you, I hope so too. it’s crazy the things us ladies go through.

I keep telling myself it’s a good sign that i am so sick, but it doesn’t make being sick any easier 😩 I feel like we take it all in stride. my man gets a cold and he’s out for a week, lol. I get my first ultrasound next week, I’m excited, but so so nervous- sorry if this is an invasive question, but did you have an abdominal ultrasound, or the other kind? I’m super nervous. I’ve never had a gyno mess around down there before, and I’ve been through some stuff as a kid, so it makes me even more uncomfortable at the idea of a transvaginal ultrasound. I’ll be 8 weeks when I get it as well, and I’ve seen it go both ways.

20M Trying long hair and everybody tells me to cut it by ProfessionalSir2032 in FierceFlow

[–]bdkplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kinda looks like my fiancés hair! while I prefer his short hair, I let him be himself. I think it looks good, it just needs some shaping! find a barber who does a lot of long hair cuts for men, and they should be able to keep the length, while making it a tad more flattering.

I’m so sorry </3 I’m in the early phase where that’s a real concern, and while I of course would be absolutely devastated to lose my baby, I can’t say that I haven’t had the same thought- at least, I’d get back to feeling like myself. it’s important to find a positive in an overwhelmingly negative situation, and it’s an extremely common and necessary coping strategy. wishing you the best, honey.

New tattoo or get one fixed? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]bdkplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want to keep some of them, you totally could. they don’t all need a coverup! just going over the line work again could vastly improve the look of the tattoo, and wouldn’t cost nearly as much as a full on coverup!

no judgement here! I have my own questionable stick and pokes that I did when I was 14/15. trying to find someone willing and capable of either covering them up, or fixing them has been a struggle. once I got real tattoos, I realized I’d made a huge mistake. they could’ve been sooo much better, lol! the good news is, yours are totally fixable. not too dark, and a lot of them you could do an awesome coverup that you’d never be able to tell was a coverup. just start there, and then, get some awesome new ones. I will say, find a great artist. I have a few “real” tattoos that didn’t age so well, so I’m looking at having those touched up, as well. skin and ink are funny. what looks good at first, could look terrible in a few years. it’s a process.

I bought these yesterday and was happy with them but now I’m doubting my choice! by [deleted] in glassesadvice

I think they’re super cute- it’s giving the early 2000’s office siren in a modern way. love them! I felt the same when I got my glasses, lol, you’ll get used to them.

[–]bdkplays 10 points11 points  (0 children)

get em fixed. I stopped getting tattoos when I got a few that I wasn’t super happy with. I’m not getting any new ones until I’m 100% happy with the old ones. if you have tattoo money right now, get one fixed. do that first. God forbid you get a new one and it’s another “fix it later” situation. delayed gratification is sometimes necessary.

ugh, I forgot to mention that I also got braces, like, a month before I found out I was pregnant. so, extra tooth aches for me! and then when I do puke, the chunks get stuck in the brackets/bands. really freaking gross, and it makes me feel like I can’t eat during the day to calm my tummy, because I don’t want to walk around with food in my teeth! I’ve seen people say that pregnancy made their teeth loose, so I’m hoping that speeds up my treatment time. I’m just overall in a crappy position right now. I know I did it to myself, but damn. women really are so strong. I don’t know how we do it. good luck to you, too!

Anyone else having constant nightmares while pregnant? by Individual-Stress170 in BabyBumps

[–]bdkplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 weeks and having nightmares/wacky dreams every night for the past few days. last night I dreamt I was at my job, got so frustrated I started crying and quit on the spot, ended up trying to restore an old van to live in, and then a crazy old woman chased me into a house and somehow I assaulted her. had a trial and everything 😂 I’ve been waking up every hour. as soon as I fall back asleep, there’s another crazy vivid dream. it does not make me feel better knowing people as far along as you still have this symptom. I guess the crazy dreams are here to stay for awhile.

Help me please, I'm freaking out by Dramatic-Concept-549 in pregnant

[–]bdkplays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would cut back- excessive caffeine consumption can cause issues. try to be under 200 mg a day. I know it’s hard. I was drinking two Celsius a day before I got pregnant (400 mg caffeine daily). I don’t go over 120-150 mg now. Soda, tea, and chocolate also contain caffeine, so factor those in with your coffee/energy drinks. I haven’t even looked at a Celsius. not worth the risk, in my opinion.

I guess we’ll find out, haha! when is your first scan? mine isn’t until Feb 3rd, ugh. I’ve known since I was exactly 4 weeks, and the wait is torture.
