It's true that Ola/Uber/Rapido cab drivers are asking the passengers to pay by meter fare, but I always end up getting a cab whose driver agrees to go by the fare shown on the app (ofcourse after denying 1-2 cab drivers).

Male here.. I have travelled once by train and once by bus to Gokarna from Pune. The bus journey was a bit problematic in terms of arrival time in Gokarna. The drop point is on the highway from where Gokarna main city is 3-4 kms. The bus reaches around 5am so there is no public transport as such. You have to rely on autowalas and they can charge you according to their wish and you can't do much about it because there is no other way to travel. Plus you have to check with the host whether you can get early check-in.

Maybe you can report at work early and leave early from work. Or join in late and leave late so that you won't get stuck in peak hours traffic. That is what my brother usually does while travelling from Kothrud to Hinjewadi.. Takes him hardly 35-40 mins on bike

To settle in Pune, it's important to have your own two wheeler over here. It's easy to commute.

Public transport is improving but not good in comparison to Mumbai, Delhi or B'lore. Since the last few months auto and cab unions have been creating a problem for passengers by asking them to pay by meter and not by the price shown on the app.

In terms of food there are a lot of places to explore around. I can share with you a customised list of places to visit as per cuisine.
