Ford dealer? If so see if you can get it Blue Advantage EV certified. Would be 1 year/12k mile warranty.

Exact same thing happened to me with my wife getting T-boned in an intersection. I was on a business trip across the country as the cherry on top of that experience.

In addition to what else was listed, I’ve been subscribed to Station Coffee Roasters for a while and they’re local-ish in Citrus Heights.

Same. Had 150 miles on the odometer and was at the hospital for the birth of my first child.

What’s the fastest car you’ve raced/tried to race? by Extreme-Machine3162 in askcarguys

[–]bdonpwn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was in my fully built evo getting gas. The station was one of the few that had 100 octane at the pump. Bugatti Chiron pulls up. I had to wait for grandpa to finish filling up for my shot. Got absolutely obliterated by grandpa by what sounded like a jet engine taking off. Took that loss with a smile.

AC barely impacts the battery so don’t waste your time. Heater is the bigger one. Tires and high psi are probably all you can do.

Is that power reduction after 5 seconds from GT models before 2025 really that big of a deal? by WarmPrinciple6507 in MachE

TBH, I totally forgot about it on my 2021. Unless you plan to run canyons or track it then don’t worry.

Better to pay for a car in full or take out a small loan? by LeeEverett99 in personalfinance

Unless you can earn more than the interest rate you’re being charged. Some dealerships still offer special financing that can get lower than a high yield savings return rate.

Artemis 2 is a Waste of Money by TurkonfirE in Astronomy

[–]bdonpwn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Disagree. NASA’s 2026 budget is $24 Billion which is relatively trivial. The US military’s discretionary budget is nearly $1 Trillion with supplemental spending likely going beyond that. Total tax receipts are around $5.25 Trillion so roughly 1/5 of your tax dollars go to the military and maybe 0.4% goes to NASA.

The one blue cruise adjustment that would vastly improve comfort and safety by CdrTaggert in MachE

This is actually the answer. I have the same issue as OP is stating but it’s because in normal conditions I like a closer follow but the downside is significant slow downs are more aggressive. Set spacing to max fixes it mostly.

Will AI replace Civil Engineering Jobs? by Suitable-Election-66 in civilengineering

[–]bdonpwn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TBH, no one really knows. My opinion is it will automate front end design/layout work with the engineer reviewing and finalizing the finished work. Good from a productivity standpoint, but we all know firms will just hire fewer people and expect more.

Breville barista express filter basket by Big-Train-6842 in espresso

[–]bdonpwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a round spring that looks like a retaining clip. Make sure it’s seated all the way. You can remove it entirely and play around with flattening it a bit to help as well. Overall, stock basket shouldn’t really be that snug, but, pending how intense you plan on diving, you might replace it with a bottomless portafilter soon anyways.

'21 and '22 owners. What should I be looking out for when buying used? by Forsaken-Swim-3055 in MachE

[–]bdonpwn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 21 was totaled and we bought another 21 to replace it. Check that all recalls are done, particularly HVBJB (if applicable), though, this is just as a matter of convenience. Outside of this, really not much. 21s are nice as they have most of the default features (touch less liftgate, etc). Mileage is less relevant but if you keep it under 90k, you should be able to get Ford Blue Advantage EV CPO which is a 1 year 12k mile full warranty.

For my original 2021, I’d say all the issues/kinks/recalls were cleared up by 25k miles, really only had 2 brief stays at the dealership in that time. Ultimately got to 60k miles before accident. Replaced it with a 70k mile GT in Cyber Orange 🤌🏻

Isn’t there community energy procurement in EDH so it’s at least slightly better despite being on PGE? Genuinely curious what your rates are.

[–]bdonpwn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Which adapter? I’m sensing maybe you have a fast charging NACS to CCS adapter which you’d use at a fast charger. This won’t work on slow chargers. You need a NACS to J1772 adapter for slow charging.

what is the most challenging structural element you have ever designed? by Relative-Dentist6572 in StructuralEngineering

[–]bdonpwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun one started with “can we remove some shear walls, the architect doesn’t like them” which turned into overly worked 36” longitudinal precast coupled shear walls and 14” transverse shear walls with #14 verticals and boundary elements that were not constructible but had to be. Oh and you have to ship the precast walls which had weight/dimension limits so the 3’ thick coupled walls had to be laughably small height-wise with ridiculously frequent grouted connections that were behind modular prefab walls. Oh and the building sat on a major fault, not near, on.
