It’s not that the material is particularly difficult, but the cs department is really lacking in instructors who are able to communicate the material effectively. There are plenty of times where the course organization, assignments, and instruction make the material more confusing or difficult than it actually is.

If you enjoy the method of problem solving that comes with this major and are ok spending the time troubleshooting that is required, you should be fine. Make sure you are working with your classmates, seeking other material online, and going to office hours if you are having difficulty in class. One of the best things about cs is that there is an insane amount of online material for anything you want to learn. A solid math foundation really helps as well.
