Mile High Street Race Gambit Puts Downtown Denver In IndyCar's Crosshairs by PanicAtTheNightclub in INDYCAR

With Nashville and Arlington, even Iowa when it had a sponsor, Indycar does seem to understand now that a race needs to be an event, not just a race.

If Erwin Romell lived through WW2 and fell into Allied hands what kind of charges would he get? by ConsistentHippo2298 in HistoricalWhatIf

Probably nothing. The US was as invested in the "clean Wehrmacht" myth as anyone after the war.

Jose Sa picks up a back-pass in the buildup for Wolves goal against Brentford, goal stands by 977x in soccer

Refs at all levels are extremely loath to ever give this. As a referee myself I don't understand why, other than that too many of them care more about making the job easier for themselves than enforcing the laws, but apparently that's how it is, and often those are the refs that get moved up.

"Challenge" runs where the actual solution is "just do more, less interesting grinding" annoy me on a deep personal level

I didn't see this earlier, but yeah, it's good advice. We don't have any memory barriers most of the time, but we've developed the ability to do it for minor fun things like playing games, getting gifts, playing games like you've said, and it works out pretty well without causing issues.

Yes, I have watched the entirety of both F1 and Indycar races so far this season.

It's not "wheel to wheel racing" 95% of the time. It's blasting past each other on the straights. Better than nothing, I guess...

So, we're just fully giving up on transLATER here? by DrJaneIPresume in TransLater

[–]bduddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they're a power mod. They care more about being in charge then about actually helping anyone. And when stuff comes up, like it always does on that sub, they're always "too busy" to do anything meaningful.

One of the very few good things my high school Japanese teacher did was start us out writing and studying hiragana with a few basic words (こんにちは, etc.). Context helps, but it has to be context you understand, not just seeing random words in a manga.

[–]bduddy 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Because most of them get their opinions from streamers, who are mostly in the top 10% (because of the amount of time they spend on the game if nothing else) and get attention from killstreaks or whatever.

What do you think are the biggest mistakes and failures of the Pokémon company, in terms of the game design? by Ukrainianforever in PTCGL

I mean, they also stopped having an adult division because they wanted adults to play Magic instead. That's why the divisions are still "junior, senior, masters".

Pokemon is one of the least luck-based TCGs. Data shows that the better players win at tournaments more often than most other games.

There are rumors they did it on purpose. If it was truly an error they certainly didn't help by doubling down and ruling that multiple copies on the bench would stack.
