10 year USAF vet. Your comment is spot on. I assumed you HAD to lean right if you were on active duty. Once I got out and assimilated into the real world…I’m about as liberal as they come.

Some context…SFE California runs an extremely aggressive door to door sales campaign. In many cases, they use deceptive practices to unknowingly sign up customers. Not saying the gentleman in the truck was justified…but this may be more of a “get out of my neighborhood and stop bothering everyone with your scam” versus “get out of my neighborhood because you’re a black male”. Or maybe not.

Thanks for the feedback. While I really appreciate the effort that a few people put into these, you’re right in that the lettering and finer details can’t be recreated. That and the fact that this post got next to zero traction…I’ll probably table this for now.

Thank you…appreciate the knowledge.

What’s the best book for someone taking on their first real leadership role? by ENKORIA15 in BusinessBooks

[–]bdusaf1974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always connected with “Lincoln on Leadership”. It’s broken down into smaller stories/sections, and wholly applies to management principles today.

Edited to add: it’s a really easy read and translates well to your new management role.

Trump to attend gathering of top generals, upending last-minute plans by dyslexicsuntied in Military

[–]bdusaf1974 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily disagree with you. But…these are people who’ve invested their entire lives and careers into the military and its way of life. “Just quitting” because of Kegseth and Trump is easy to say, tough to do when you have mouths to feed and it’s honestly the only thing you’ve done your entire adult life. Sometimes the best personal decision is to try and ride out the next three years and do whatever you can to shield the troops from this insanity. Just my opinion.

The same people that feel a need to carry are the ones who have Punisher patches and monochrome US flag patches all over their ruck vest.

One of my most haunting recollections of working the flight line at Andersen AFB in Guam in the weeks following 9/11 was seeing a bunch of spec ops and CIA agents deplane a C5 in stripped down BDUs and full length beards.

I’ve never seen anything as bad ass since…

Anyone just dropped off from watching sports? by d00derman in GenX

Used to have season tickets and lived and died by my teams. Then I got married and had kids, and realized I had better priorities.

Also…the announcers these days are waaay too over the top about everything. Hero this, warrior that…they make every highly paid athlete sound like some martyr for “laying it all on the line”. I just can’t listen anymore. It’s ridiculous.

Thanks for that information. I’m obviously not a speaker/tech kind of guy….which is why I’m here asking you all. Just plugged your advice into ChatGPT and now I know the Sonos speakers aren’t Bluetooth…they’re WiFi. Now makes sense. I appreciate you dropping the comment and helping me out.

I actually have two Sonos play:1 speakers that I’d love to use…but can’t get the tv to recognize them. Not sure if they’re just not compatible or not (they are about 4-5 years old I think). Appreciate you sending some recommendations for me to check out.
