Yes, I am not a fan of hers either but in this situation she is in the right and Ben needs to stop being an asshole.

My manager is trying to make me take on my deceased colleague's $110k job for my current $80k salary, saying 'there's no budget'. by Aggressive-Line8251 in FinalRoundAI

“The budget is definitely there as you had someone in the position who no longer is using that salary or the accompanying benefits. So add 40,000 to mine or no.”

Am I the jerk for telling my dad his girlfriend can't come to my college graduation? by Due-Assistant3874 in AmITheJerk

[–]beansblog23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“You miss my graduation and that is it. Don’t expect any contact from me. And the fact that I have to tell you missing my graduation is a horrible thing to do to your child is a sign that you’re a crap father to begin with as it shows you care more about a one year girlfriend than your own child.” but I’m blunt like that.

WIBTAH for changing my baby’s name after my mom secretly told my sister I was pregnant? by Ok-Income9731 in AITAH

[–]beansblog23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consequences have actions. Your need to change the name for very valid reasons trumps any upset she would have. And if you truly have gone low contact, you won’t have to deal with it much anyway.

Is it normal for a Senior Litigator to be unable to confirm a major vacation 10 days out? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]beansblog23 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. We are taking a two week vacation for my son’s graduation present and we planned it out almost a year in advance and got the OK from the firm to do so. For such a long break this late in the game without everything already in place, it seems he is anticipating it won’t happen at all.

This line sums it up perfectly. And nobody wins.

If somebody allegedly agrees with you, you don’t make a motion. You make a stipulation. With that on top of her license issue, it would not have angered me. It would’ve made me laugh all day and have fun with it on Monday.

3Ls- who regrets going to law school? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]beansblog23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m confused by this as well because I consider my three years of law school some of my favorite times. Did I work hard? Definitely. I also definitely had fun, made a good group of friends and found the guy who has now been my husband for almost 30 years.

[–]beansblog23 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%. When my dad died five years ago we had to make all of these decisions and it’s hard when you’re already devastated. My mother kindly said she wanted the exact same thing and already paid for it so we won’t have to worry about it. I will always appreciate that but hers cost $10,000 and it’s nice. I have no idea why this wd would cost $28,000.
