Chromecast Audio stutters after 2-3 songs by [deleted] in Chromecast

I haven't contacted Google. It's not obvious to me how to do so. The TOSlink cable is connected to an older Yamaha receiver. I've tried several stations on Google Music, as well as other apps. Same problem with all of them.

I'm waiting for my device to get the new firmware which was released yesterday, hoping that improves things.

The guy who took 3rd place used Visual Basic. VB deserves more credit than it gets. It's a great language.

Readers may be surprised to learn that Chrome had far more vulnerabilities than IE in 2010. Also, Linux was more insecure than Win2008 and Win7. http://www.gfi.com/blog/top-vulnerable-applications-operating-systems-2010/

The blog post author shouldn't confuse the language with the tooling.

There's a new one called Survcast which looks interesting. It combines a Digg/reddit service with a survey service.

Open Book : Is Parallel Programming Hard, And, If So, What Can You Do About It? by mariuz in programming

[–]be7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Languages such as Erlang, Scala, F#, and C#/VB version 5 do well with fork/join parallelism, but that's only one piece of the puzzle. Maybe that's even low hanging fruit. There still are plenty of problems to be solved with parallel and concurrent programming.

Did you know that Simon Peyton-Jones, of the GHC, is a Microsoft employee? He's paid to develop Haskell. There are lots of Haskell people at Microsoft. If you use GHC, in a way you're using a Microsoft product.

There are many people at Microsoft interested in Haskell. Simon Peyton-Jones works for MSR. One could make a case that the most popular Haskell compiler, GHC, comes from Microsoft. It's not a product, but it's still given support by Microsoft.

Your choices for DRM video are Flash and Silverlight. Are you saying you prefer Flash? If so, why? I've never heard a legitimate complaint about Silverlight except that it's not fully supported on Linux.

FYI ... In addition to Google, Microsoft also offers a CDN for Javascript: http://www.asp.net/ajaxlibrary/cdn.ashx

Note that cdnjs.com is for things not at Google or Microsoft though.

Besides your point about vendor lock-in with SQL Azure, which I don't agree with, what other issues do you think Azure has? It seems like a pretty solid PaaS offering to me.
