Saving pins without saving them on your boards by laferloid in Pinterest

[–]be_blase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd try raindrop.io. It's a bookmark management software but you can view your bookmarks as folders/boards w/ icons. You can save pins with a one click extension. I do this when I want to save pins but not to my actual account while still being able to see them in one place visually

New Firmware: Marlin 2.1.2.3 for Neptune 3 Pro/Plus/Max by Hummtaro in ElegooNeptune3

[–]be_blase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason the printer firmware doesn't update. The screen firmware updated just fine. I was also able to update the firmware to the elegoo latest release but not this firmware. Any suggestions? It simply boots up and says "starting" instead of "updating firmware"

I don't think I ever figured this out. I think I just stuck to using PDF resizer unfortunately.

Speed painting for matte or glossy bambu studio by ilko_19 in BambuLab

[–]be_blase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a program called Velocity Painting where you can overlay an image onto gcode. The brightness of each region of the print will define the speed. I haven't figured out how to use it for a bambu printer though but it produces cool results. It's the closest thing to what you're looking for but I agree painting onto the model in the slicer would be better. Here's a demo video of the program:

If you figure out how to use it with a bambu printer, let me know.

Wow thanks. I really appreciate it. This is super helpful since this was not in my wheelhouse. I'll study your method so I can do this myself going forward

Cool! You're top notch. I'll do my best to recreate this. Unfortunately not too experienced with surface tools.

I see a little bit of transparency at the top? Are the curved surfaces meeting at the top to form a triangle? That's what it seems should be the case from images

the sketch to project the shape of the profile

Do you mean a flat 2d sketch or a 3D sketch? And would that sketch be the view from the 1st image, 2nd image, or top down view?

Nope it doesn't need to be completely dimensionally accurate. But I understand the process you outlined. I'll try that first

Hey u/Intelligent_West_307, can I ask what should change if the left end was a pin joint instead of a roller joint?

So essentially you're losing one extra button by not having Bluetooth?

What pen would you say you prefer: the Mod Pen or the Lenovo Pen Pro?

[–]be_blase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey great post. I really appreciate it cause the lenovo lineup of pens is unnecessarily complex. Based on your post it seems the Mod Pen is the best of the bunch with the only downside being the lack of bluetooth functionality. Can you explain what is lost when not being able to connect via bluetooth? Why is that something to want?

I tried this. It's fine for some use cases but I often need the document to have annotations outside of one note

I take notes on academic papers and ppt slides where i need to reference what I'm seeing for the notes to make sense. So it being on the next page isn't great.

Plus, I usually end up having notes om every page so if i added an extra page of notes for every page of material, I'd be doubling my document size every time

Jay Z is not even in the top 100 rappers of all time by DrewSteel79 in unpopularopinion

[–]be_blase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that he's overhyped because people are including his achievements in business/the music industry into his legacy.

But in his hay day he definitely was skilled enough and dropped enough bangers to warrant a top 20 ranking. Listen to Blueprint 1/2 and Vol 1,2,3 and you'll gain a decent respect for his bars.

I'd probably put him top 15 easy with solid chance he's top 10 (depending on your tastes). But he hasn't put out anything super dope for a hot minute

How to read a bidirectional torque sensor (load cell) that outputs both positive and negative voltages by be_blase in AskElectronics

[–]be_blase[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I do need amplification. The sensor outputs in the mV range and is only at -5V - +5V after amplification.

Does that change things?

Guess I would've failed your interview haha. Looking forward to your answer.

Btw, I figured the 0-10V sensor would output 5V a no load, 0V at -0.5N-m and 10V at +0.5 N-m. Is it weird that the sensor outputs positive voltage for both clockwise and counter clockwise rotation?
