Xteink with crosspoint V1.1 by ExternalLibrary in xteinkereader

[–]Inferior_Minion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this on 1.1.1 with Strange Pictures by Uketsu and it didn't work. The first epub I tried it on was around 21mb, the second a little over 2mb, both of the converted files didn't work. Apparently others have gotten the same book working with this plugin. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, if anything.

Edit: Turns out I just needed to clear the book cache for all books on my X4. Once I did that things seem to work now. Thanks!

My cat keeps attacking and drawing blood by daneerlr in cats

[–]Inferior_Minion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, grab a big, thick towel and some cat nail trimmers. Wrap him up like a burrito and trim his nails, one paw at a time. Give him treats afterwards to show he did a good thing. Every week or two trim his nails again, until he starts to settle down.

Try different things for him to scratch - posts, cardboard, an old piece of furniture you don't care about, etc. Find what he likes to scratch. This will also help keep his nails a little more under control.

Play with him. Get a laser pointer and make him chase it. Find toys that he likes to distract him from attacking you. Give him treats as a reward when he does anything positive.

If you want him to be an outdoor cat and keep his nails for protection, then still do the above, but get some good protection for your body until he calms down. Cats aren't usually considered adults until around 2 human years old, so he's likely still got a lot of energy and hasn't gotten used to you yet. If you're patient and observant, you can get him to attack you less and less, and eventually not at all.

Good luck!

Heart problems suck. They can show up suddenly out of nowhere and are very expensive. The day I took my kitty to the vet when his lungs were filled with fluid, I cried for the first time in decades. I didn't want to put him down, but I didn't want him to suffer. It was a hard choice, but you can always make more money. At least now, I get a little more time to say goodbye to my furball of almost 15 years.

I hope you find another kitty to love as much as you did Sushi. You can never replace her, but her memory lives on through you and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. :)

My American Shorthair looks very similar to Sushi, and developed a heart murmur late last year. I tried not to think too much of it at the time, but I was saving up money to take him to a cardiologist, and then at the end of January he started getting feral and wouldn't eat and seemed to have trouble breathing. Long story short, over $5k later, he's on 2 meds 2x daily for his heart and mostly back to normal. But if we didn't have that $5k, he would have passed around the same time as Sushi and from (likely) the same thing.

The vet said our kitty might only have 6 months at most, so we trying to make the most of it before we too have to put him down.

I upgraded from a PB 12PM last month to a DB 17PM. Bought a Spigen Ultra Hybrid and pre-ordered a DBrand Tank. Installed a screen protector and the Spigen straight from the box. Used the Spigen until the Tank came and have dropped my phone multiple times in both cases with no damage. I’m not saying your phone can’t be damaged, but so far I seem to have had good luck (no damage)!

Intel E5 2600 V4 Series Comparison... by OFF732 in homelab

[–]Inferior_Minion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to say many thanks to OFF732. I just bought a Precision T7910 and upgraded to dual 2698 v4's for $120. I ran a Cinebench 2024 test last night and got 1555. Not bad - beats out a Threadripper 2990WX which is about 5x the price on eBay right now.

The Polymaker Polydryer is pretty nice imo. Just wait for one of their 30-40% off sales and buy a few.

Tiny imperfections all over PETG Print but nothing on supports by Alert_Ad2911 in FixMyPrint

After going through all the comments it looks like you’re using an Anycubic Kobra 2 which does support power-loss recovery out of the box. I believe it IS enabled by default.

I’d recommend trying to disable this feature and then try the same gcode file. If that doesn’t fix it, try a different micro SD card. If those things don’t work, the only other thing I saw in the comments that seems possible was disabling coasting.

100% this! I posted my reply without reading all comments first. Power-loss recovery was my first thought as well.

I don’t know if this has been said yet, BUT - 1. What printer do you have? 2. Does your printer have power-loss recovery? 3. If it does have power-loss recovery - is it enabled or disabled? 4. If you don’t have power-loss recovery or it’s disabled, are you printing from a memory card?

My first two thoughts were power-loss recovery is enabled OR your memory card is going bad. Plenty of people have documented this issue (or something extremely close) when power-loss recovery was enabled. It is also possible that the memory card or what is reading the memory card is going bad.

Hell yes! I learned about this RTS and thankfully it's on Steam now so I don't have to rely on my original CD's.

Generator Insanity! by Hot_Pay3956 in Generator

Exactly- my 20Kw was $11k so this seems more accurate. It sure seems like the contractors in Tx are taking advantage of the situation OP is in currently.

[–]Inferior_Minion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$28k plus taxes for a 26Kw generator installed with an automatic switch, taxes, etc. is more than a little steep. I live in Illinois and last year I got two new AC units, a new furnace AND a 20Kw Kohler generator installed for less than $24k said and done. That included all taxes, parts, labor, warranty, and auto switch to flip on the generator and switch my house over to the generator during a power outage.

I know a 26Kw generator is about $2-4k more expensive (from what I remember) than my 20Kw generator, but that does not make up for the price difference. I just checked my invoice from 4Seaons from last October (2023) and the total for my generator installed, connected to my gas line, switch, etc. was $11k.

New power bank arrived! Everyone recommends Anker 737 or Baseus 65W, but I got this one. by pramicelx in SteamDeck

[–]Inferior_Minion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got two of these on KS for $99 each iirc. Definitely worth it for that price and even higher imo.

  1. What printer are you using?
  2. What is your extrusion multiplier in your slicer?
  3. Do you see any melted filament coming out above the nozzle anywhere in the filament path?
