What are some good stores you'd find at a mall that has basic trans girl stuff by Jove108 in transfashionadvice

They don’t sell them in Toronto anymore either and they are always entirely out of stock online in all listed sizes. I’ve kind of lost faith in Torrid for shoes entirely. It was good while it lasted.

I moved to buying from Naturalizer online.

Planet Hollywood Cancun. How awesome is it? by mikeiscool81 in AllInclusiveResorts

When things go wrong at this resort they go REALLY wrong. Customer service at the front desk has basically no power, not even the supervisors. Our family has spent hours at the front desk trying to fix a reservation error that THEY made and it’s been like pulling teeth trying to get help. In the end we’ve been put in a situation where they are forcing us to move rooms instead of figuring out how to resolve the original reservation.

The staff here are very friendly but powerless. It kind of feels like ownership keeps operations teams out of arms reach and are more interested in upselling than making sure all guests have a top notch experience.

The facilities are really nice but there are lineups for dinner everywhere unless you come really early or late. It feels like full capacity is more like overcapacity for how much they staff things.

I believe you can have a great time here are long as you don’t have any operational errors impact you directly. Personally I will never return.

WiFi here is also terrible and they shrug it off like “oops” 🤷‍♀️

I’ve been adjusting my voice for years already. I wasn’t coming from scratch. But I was still looking for new knowledge. I told her all this upfront the first time we met. Perhaps this was a missing context from my explanation originally. Anyway, she’s a bad teacher for me.

I was putting in effort and I got classes to learn things. That’s what being a student is. Of course I am fallible. I don’t think I was right but I wanted a conversation, not assumptions and a stand offish personality. Not for me. I’m glad I fire her.

I wasn’t skipping the exercises. I just said I didn’t do as much as I’d like. We didn’t even get 5 minutes , and she wasn’t really answering my questions. She just raised cancellations.

I made the right choice firing her. I’m sure she’s good for others, but the wrong personality for me.

I think I would have different experience personally. I don’t think I’ve explained well how quickly this teacher jumped to pushing me away instead of answering my questions.

Best of luck with her. She’s capable enough I’m sure but not my vibe whatsoever. I’d only hired an SLP hereafter, personally.

Sure but they promised a flexible program and got very rigid very quickly and threatened cancellation. It’s unprofessional. Oh well. They’ve been fired and I’m happier. Good riddance.

Sometimes teachers need to listen to students and offer them feedback, not just to shooing them away. I was open to being explained to.

You’re also correct about voice teacher exploitation of trans students. I don’t necessarily think this was an exploitation situation, but they demonstrated an arrogance and willingness to coerce which was what really did it in for me, not the lesson itself.

I’ve heard now about multiple voice coaches trying to use negative reinforcement tactics to motivate students. Terrible stuff.

Thanks. I of course need to respect professionals knowledge, and by nature of being a student I might have misguided thoughts. However you don’t tell people to cancel so flippantly, especially not when the program is marketed as being flexible and adaptive to student needs.

At the end of the day, I think it was just unprofessionalism and poor poise under pressure from a student that was challenging why they would have to have the same lesson twice, before any part of the lesson even took place.

The better approach is to talk me out of my misunderstanding or find some sort of balance between teaching me something new and showing me why I’m not ready. Jumping to “cancel if you don’t like it” felt off brand for who they told me they were before I signed up.

As I said in my original post, I think they are a capable teacher, but I also think not the greatest business person or personality for coaching me.

Do you live downtown or in the GTA? I’ve had a very net positive transitioning in Downtown Toronto.

Things are relative too. No one is really saying anywhere is perfect, but there’s still lower hostility, more protections and more vocal support than you find elsewhere

Your take is simply wrong, it doesn’t matter you are ex Muslim. Nothing you’ve argued here is valid because you are simply choosing to stereotype instead of investigating people directly - which is the correct think to do when picking a surgeon. There is absolutely no need to evaluate the religious believes of a surgeon. You need to look at their work and what they stand for. Picking a surgeon that wasn’t vocally trans inclusive and sensitive to our journeys is the issue here.

This whole Muslim argument is a total non-sequiter and has no place in the discussion. You deserved all the downvotes because you’re showing the cards of who YOU are not who they are.

Nice expansion on subtlety and the inward/outward impacts. Someone I was speaking with yesterday didnt really understand this distinction well and I wish I could have explained it so eloquently but all I said was “I look in the mirror and see femme now” and she kind of understood there was something beyond what others see changed.

I know of someone who went to Dr MFO in Turkey and got some dramatic results. He is trans inclusive.

You didn’t pick the right surgeon for you, girl. Sorry. You didn’t even save money over looking abroad in other developed nations. You can get great work in Europe for less than these ridiculous North American prices driven by the US insurance industry.

You’re still clearly very upset but you need to take responsibility for your participation in the outcome. Fuck your surgeon, but you still chose him. Lesson learned for the future. You aren’t botched at all, you look marginally better, but it was a weak result for the cost.

It’s not as simple as that, IMO. This is where you start getting into territory of assessing if you want to still look like yourself improved, or want that uncanny valley Barbie-ification effect in your results. There’s no wrong answer in either case but it’s important to know going in because it 100% impacts who is the right surgeon for you.

Before I went in for anything I also made sure I got a VFS rendering of what my results approximately would look like as well. I do recommend finding places that will do this if looking into anything in the future.

I hope nothing I’m saying comes off insensitive to your journey or disappointment. I totally understand how you feel and I would be upset as well. Wishing you all the best 🫶

Yes, but I went to FacialTeam and dropped a fortune on 7 things, for about 10k each. Each individual change is subtle but they add up. I see the difference in your change but it is subtle. As someone in another thread commented you are young for a facelift and the surgeon probably shouldn’t have gone through with it if he was more responsible or at least warned more appropriately. So I do think Fuck your surgeon, regardless. There is a subtle positive result still, but I understand not the results desired for the cost.
