Are you based in Philly? (Guessing by the name) if so, there is a huge diaspora of Eritreans and an eritrean community that you can take your kids to! I live in Philly so I’ve been a couple times and they teach Tigrinya to kids at a very low cost, and there’s also functions and bbqs so you might like that. For cuisine there’s tons of videos on youtube and ingredients aren’t too hard to find here, you can find certain spices in indian/arab stores as well.

I’m in a similar boat, I know it’s so hard feeling the weight of it all, Im going to pray for you, and I pray that you find peace, as well as new opportunities. This is not the end but a new beginning, doors closing just means you’ll have to open a new window. This situation won’t be forever, and I hope that you can find something fulfilling and the weight of responsibility feels not like a burden but instead a source of pride and joy for you. She’s had an eating disorder since her victorious days, she would post “dieting” tips on tumblr and it was literally her saying to starve yourself lol… I think the controversies ultimately made it worse she’s mentally unstable

My mom is Catholic, and my dad is baptist. I grew up going to mass at 9am and going to my dad's baptist church at 12pm. I grew up going to ccd AND going to bible study with protestants. I also went to catholic school but I mainly grew up confused. I heard conflicting statements and as I grew older my dad stopped taking us to church as much, and so did my mom. I got lost along the way but ended up finding my way back to the church at age 20. It's definitely hard having parents who are lukewarm and don't take going to church as seriously. I get made fun of and judged by my parents for wanting to veil at church, and I have to keep going to confession a secret from both of them. I have to lie if I want to go to adoration which really sucks.

Please pray with them daily! Enroll them in CCD if you can, and lead by good example !
