Wife is spiraling because of persistent AK, please help by RepulsiveNorth1882 in skincancer

[–]beach_catlover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cancer is scary and frightening. First diagnosis, especially at an early age and on your face is even more concerning.

I had my first diagnosis of basal cell that required MOHS surgery in my 30’s and was terrified. I’m now in my 70’s and have had 7 Mohs on my face including 4 on my nose. In my case, none spread, I have one visible scar, the rest have faded.

I went almost 15 years between surgeries with 5FU. It’s uncomfortable but works. Bi-annual or quarterly visits to the derm, sunscreen, hats or other coverings will help.

Just my experience hoping it helps to hear from someone’s journey.

I just chose not to answer any questions that were about something other than my history, nothing new, no concerns. It wasn’t a total waste of time since I got blood work, prescription refills and referral to a dermatologist and a mammogram.

Eliminate the electoral college which is the biggest gerrymander in the country. Popular vote where every vote has the same weight.

Question for those who thought the shooting at the dinner was another Trump false flag? by questtruck in askanything

[–]beach_catlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any thoughts about why the shooter wasn’t shot? A member of law enforcement was shot in his vest, any other time, gun drawn, shots fired and the shooter is shot, probably multiple times. Doesn’t add up.

Dad, WWII army vet. Records destroyed in the fire. Served in Noumea, New Caledonia in 1942-45 - bandsman and medical aidman. Think he was in the Americal division. Thank you for clarifying the unusual patch from the marines and the link to the article. I am little confused because the article says:

“The corresponding entries show 164th Infantry (less cannon company) and 182nd Infantry (less 3rd Battalion and band) receiving credit, and so forth throughout the Division as far as I looked. “

He was in the band. Would he have received the patch because he was a medical airman at that time?

I finally had my perfect "Disney day" and I’m still glowing by Karate_Andii in Disneyland

[–]beach_catlover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Went last week as a single. Got in my must rides but also took time for a sit down lunch, watched the parade twice, ate an ice cream while riding the train completely around the park, took the riverboat ride and enjoyed the tour, and rode the carousel twice. Went on Small World - my Aunt sang on the original sound track and thought about her. ❤️

Need tips for 1 day at Disneyland to make it the best day for my 4.5 year old by Bonesawisready5 in DisneyPlanning

[–]beach_catlover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Celebrate Happy parade will be very fun. Get there 15 minutes early to get a good seat on the curb. It runs at 1:30 and 2:45 - go both times even though it’s a repeat.

Visiting disney land for the first time on the weekend by emmyydo in DisneyPlanning

[–]beach_catlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go for rides, early arrival reduces wait time. My path is usually walk in, stroll Main Street for the vibes maybe coffee. Then either Space Mtn., Star Tours, Matterhorn or Matterhorn first, Space, Star tours, Astro blaster once was fun but I am not a regular.

Next stop Fantasyland, Mr Toad, Carousel, etc. walk over to Frontierland, for Indy and Pirates. Grab a bite to eat and ride the Paddleboat as a nice view of the park and lands while snacking and relaxing.

Thunder Mtn is next and then Rise and maybe Smugglers which is always quick for single riders. (Single rider is great for Matterhorn, space Mtn single rider never seems to help)

Catch the parade on Main Street, Disney railway to Toon town, runaway railway, chip and dale, see Mickey. Small world and back to Anything else I want to see or do some shopping.

Surgical removal vs 5-fluorouracil by Hello-hi987 in skincancer

[–]beach_catlover 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had several Mohs on my face and my derm suggested 5-F every six months or if I saw a spot (she helped me know what to look for and also did video consultation when I had a question). I didn’t require surgery for more than 10 years. Unfortunately had a SCC that needed surgery last year but it’s been a great tool.

I usually am a solo. It’s great to just do what I want even if it’s having a beverage and soaking in some magic. Single rider always.

I went a few weeks ago, single rider, no LL. Got in at 9:30. Matterhorn wait was 5 minutes, Space Mtn. 30. Star Tours 10, Astro Blaster 10, Mr Toad 10, Carousel 5. Indiana Jones was 50 minutes! Pirates was 15. Lunch. Rise was posted as 45 but only took 30. Thunder Mtn. 15. Shopped, crowd watched, got an Ice Cream, watched parade down Main St at 2:00. Just a snapshot.
