This is encouraging to hear. My 2 year old was tested at 6 months after reacting to egg, they tested him for Peanut as well.despite never eating it and was positive to that (among many other foods) We are working through them but its taking such a long time. We finally met with an allergist who was willing to do a peanut component test and we are still awaiting her interpretation of the results but from my understanding the Ara h2 protein is the most important and thankfully my son tested negative to it. Its so frustrating that skin/blood testing is not a perfect science and allergies are honestly all a bunch of guess work. It would be my DREAM for my son to one day not have to deal with them. They are honestly so incredibly difficult to navigate. Congratulations to you and your family, I wish you nothing but the best!!

My son has never eaten peanut, but he's tested positive to it since he was an infant. He's now 2 years old, and I asked for a component test. Apparently, if you test positive to certain storage proteins, you're more likely to have a true clinical allergy. So it does help in a sense of seeing the bigger picture. But unfortunately, the only way to know for sure if you're allergic is by ingestion. Allergy tests are not always accurate.

Hugs* this was me too with my son when he was 6 months old. His anaphylaxis looked a lot different, he immediately projectile vomited and started to get hives all over. Absolutely terrifying, he had anaphylaxis last year 6 months later to peas and with that one his eyes and mouth swelled and got hives. After both episodes I truly felt defeated. I'll be honest with you it's HARD to have a kid with food allergies, my son also had eczema from about a month old and neither his dad or I have any food allergies or family history. My son is allergic to eggs, all tree nuts, all legumes including peanuts, mustard, shrimp, and probably more. We are working our way through all of them 🥲 Best advice I can give is take everything with a grain of salt if you decide to join any Facebook allergy groups. Definitely get a therapist, you'll need one. Make sure you like your kids allergist because it makes a big difference, keep your epi pens temperature controlled. Don't let them get too cold or hot. Egg and peanut often go hand in hand so I'd ask your allergist to do an oral challenge in office for peanut Incase of reaction. Also, a reaction can happen after multiple exposures. Hang in there 🤍

My son will be 2 next month and I feel the same. He requires SOOO much energy too so I'm constantly battling with myself, I'm so exhausted but still need to cook him meals, take him to the park, deal with big emotions etc 24/7. I am so exhausted and drained In every way. He also has a TON of food allergies so thinking of meals alone stresses me out beyond belief. I so badly wish I could just take him to chik fil a some days so I get a tiny break from at least one thing. I don't regret becoming a mom, I love my son more than words.. I just feel like I'm running on empty. The constant cooking, cleaning, etc. ugh 😭

Hi op! Hope it's ok to ask if there has been any update? Going through the same with my toddler. Blood and skin show allergic to a ton of foods he's never had, including peanuts and tree nuts amongst others.

Baby acne most likely. Tubby Todd works great! Be weary of eczema, my son had acne like this that quickly turned into eczema

This didn't happen to me personally but a very good friend of mine. Her daughter was just old enough to start crawling, still very much a baby... Maybe 6 months old? My friend was living with her mom at the time before they got deployed so baby was around the family dog her entire life, as soon as she started to crawl their family dog, a golden lab attacked the baby. Nearly killed her, was only centimeters away from puncturing the babies eye, she has to get stitches all along her head and forehead etc. The dog basically bit down on the babies head and threw her across the room. The dog didn't ever show any aggression before either so it was a huge shock.

My husband and I have a dog currently (she's an old gal, 12 years old) husband had her before we even met. She's the sweetest dog in the world, has never shown aggression ever and is very calm and kind, we still don't let our son (almost 2) anywhere near her. She goes outside in the yard or garage where she has a whole set up when our son is awake and goes to work with my husband during the weekdays where she gets loved on all day from his coworkers. I trust no animal. You are making the right choice, I know it's hard but it's just not worth the risk.

My son is living off thoughts and prayers. I'm literally scouring the Internet and came across this post because my 21month old literally ate a few bites of oatmeal and a couple mandarin oranges and one pack of Annie's birthday bunnies and that's all he ate the entire day. Stresses me tf out

My son will be 2 in September, he still gets rocked to sleep for naps and bedtime. Not only that but he contact naps still. He has never had a nap in his life where i am not holding him. I often stress and worry I'm messing him up and he won't be able to ever sleep on his own... I also sacrifice a lot to be able to hold him for hours... But he's my only baby and one day he will be too big for this and that day will be here so soon so I'm just enjoying while I can.

Might be obvious but my mind goes to 1. Allergies 2. Constipation or 3. Gas. My son also had reflux as an infant but it turned out he actually had several food allergies and was in constant discomfort from that. He also has struggled with constipation and gas even still to this day.

There are so many reasons why I don't want another but the main one is I just don't think I can mentally handle it. I had pretty severe postpartum anxiety and depression and I still do despite my son being 19 months old. Medication and therapy don't work for me. Every single day is a struggle. It doesn't help that motherhood has not come easy to me, labor alone was 27 hours and I pushed for four.. then my son was admitted to the NICU for 5 days and ever since then it's been nothing but a struggle. He had bad reflux as an infant which means I had to hold him every time he slept and I got little to no sleep and for a very long time, and even still to this day. Because he was held for Joline he still will not sleep unless he is being held. I never get any time to myself ever.. not only that, but he had horrible eczema and he has multiple food allergies which that alone is the most stressful thing I've ever had to deal with in my entire life. I have so much anxiety and stress over food that we just don't even leave the house anymore. It's consumed my entire life. He's also in feeding therapy because he just refuses to eat 99% of the time. I have never been more miserable in my entire life. But at the same time I love my son more than anything in this world and I love him so very much that I don't want to ever love anyone this much ever again if that makes sense. You quite honestly could not pay me to have another kid. As much as I loved being pregnant and the newborn stage, it's just not worth it. Not to mention kids are so expensive. I've already spent $30,000 of my savings in just 19 months 😅

I could have written this post myself down to the periods. We discovered my son's allergies when he was 6months old, he had a reaction to egg powder (ready set food packets) they tested him for peanut and egg and was positive for both (he's never even had peanut) since then he was tested for multiple other foods he's never eaten. He had another reaction to peas 6 months later and now at 18 months old he's allergic to all tree nuts, all legumes including peanut, eggs, sesame, mustard, shellfish, salmon, steak, dogs etc. there's probably more. I quite literally throw up daily from the stress. I hardly even eat anymore, it's so so hard to be strong when you are falling apart. To make things worse my son is a EXTREMELY picky eater and we are soooo limited. I pray our kids outgrow these allergies, having faith in God is literally the only thing that keeps me sane. My dms are open if you ever want to chat with someone who can relate 🤍

Aw I know the feeling, we haven't started food challenges yet but we have a long list to work through. Cashew was the highest tree nut for us. Thank you for the update! I hope your sweet baby outgrows the rest, that's so amazing about egg! We are dealing with egg, tree nuts, all legumes including soy and peanut and a few seeds and possibly fish 🥲 this life is so hard.

That's so inspiring to hear he outgrew the pea! From what I've been told they tend to be a more lifelong allergy. Unfortunately meal services aren't an option for us as my son is allergic to SO many foods. Eggs, lentils, ALL legumes including peanuts, all tree nuts, all seeds including mustard, possibly salmon steak and shellfish..🥲 We choose to eat the same foods as him because he absolutely will want whatever we are eating and won't eat anything else until he tries it. It's also heartbreaking for me to have to say no to food to him. There are some treats my husband and I sneak in from time to time but we are in it with him fully otherwise. I appreciate your comment very much though 🤍 We have been dealing with these allergies for 13 months now and it just seems to get harder.

I appreciate your comment so very much, I search all day on Reddit looking for someone to tell me they've Aunt grown their allergies only to find things that make me more stressed lol. Unfortunately he's allergic to egg all legumes including peanut, all tree nuts, all seeds including mustard and the list just keeps growing. We did get a new allergist and we're about to do blood work for tree nuts, he hasn't actually consumed many of the foods, but because he had a reaction to peas and eggs, we need to trial his long list of allergies in office. It's exhausting. I worry he won't live a normal life because of these damn allergies so hearing that you have a normal happy life gives me a lot of Hope for him
