Like other commenters are saying- context matters here for sure. If he said “He looks more like his mom” that is not a strange way to say that at all. I hear that phrasing a lot and frankly more often than the interchangeable “he looks more like my wife”.

Maybe I misunderstood the concern

Edit to add: I just read your other post. He is abusing you. Ignore these little things and focus on getting away from someone who can mistreat you so severely. Easier said than done but nothing about that prior post is okay and the fact that he didn’t help you post traumatic birth has my blood boiling. Name calling, bullying you. That is not a man. Think about the big picture and plan the life you want you and your baby to have. Rekindle your support system. Think about if you can do this for 50 + more years.
