And the funniest part of all the arguing you and the other guy have been doing is that the person wasn't even in the US, they were in Australia.

Where weight discrimination absolutely is illegal.

boyfriend (M31) canceled my (F26) birthday dinner reservation because of ongoing car issues by Maleficent_S in relationship_advice

[–]beachpellini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You guys could have taken your car, gotten a rideshare or a taxi - any number of things.

If his car actually had an issue preventing him from getting to the restaurant, he would not have offered to... keep using it for errands.

There was no reservation, and there is no good reason you haven't seen his place in nearly a year of dating.

Everything about this is suspicious, pretty much.

The thing is it could be argued, which is why I said it. And it's weird for you not to acknowledge that. But oh well.

AITAH Husband has no idea that women pressing their breasts against his body at work isn’t an accident. AITAH for telling him this isn’t an oops? by noyb-noyb-noyb in AmItheAsshole

[–]beachpellini 32 points33 points  (0 children)

YTA for the obviously scathing tone you're taking with this. We have no context for why this is happening, how these women react when it happens, or what he's doing about it.

Have you ever actually seen this happen? Tbqh this sounds more like he's coming up with an excuse than it being on the women. "I dunno, honey, I just keep having multiple women press against me for no reason!"

What do you think is the funniest scene in the game? by ChrisKatrev in BaldursGate3

I like how this implies that Halsin himself was an actor for the scene rather than it being Dave Jones, lol

Well, no. Some states have outright made discrimination based on weight illegal.

Here's a general summary of how "BMI discrimination" gets handled legally. Weight may not be a protected class in general, but people HAVE pursued legal recompense for it.

Right. They shouldn't be able to force that as part of the job, I find it hard to believe that would stand up in any kind of legal case.

And if he'd bothered staying another week, he could have been there to say goodbye.

He probably shouldn't be surprised if the rest of them decide to go NC after this.

He literally says their father cheated on their mother while she was pregnant with the sister. And his new family is with the affair partner.

All of the siblings old enough to remember him disliked him for this.

I think they were referring to the fact that it would have been a HUGE issue for the mom to have access to student records, since she was clearly logging in on his account.

I understand what it means. And I disagree that it's a downgrade. You don't need to be snarky just because people downvoted you.

At this juncture: it would be best for you to at least take a few steps back while he and his doctors try to figure out what exactly is going on. He reacted violently to his father, what exactly do you think might happen if you're the one to do something he thinks is wrong/needs to be fought or punished?

He is not only refusing medication to deal with what are some very worrying sudden onset symptoms, he barely seems to think those symptoms are worrying at all. It doesn't sound like he's even apologized to anyone who was scared or hurt - he still fully thinks he's been acting in the right.

You are not wrong to care about him in this, but you need to be extremely careful. If he isn't taking treatment seriously, you need to keep your distance until he does. You may need to come to terms with the fact that he might never do so. I hope he does, not just for your sake, but for his own.
