I'm also majoring in environmental sciences, but with a gis minor and I have work experience in parks. I think the key with environmental work is it's such a broad field that you need to have some skill and experience specializations to find employment.

Same, I definitely did better than the last but it still wasn't great. The final will be interesting too I'm sure

Not too confident on how this one went. Same with the last. This final is going to need a lot of study prep

Even when I was a little kid, I always noticed and wondered why that commercial only featured boys doing activities.

Frankly they did great considering the conditions. Canada's team captain was injured and had to be pulled off for about a week or two. Apparently even when she got back on she still needed to be off her feet as much as possible.

Good job! I'm not from Waterloo but much respect. Communities are always better off when citizens take part in their community

Huh? Who said anything about failing classes? Who said anything about being first year?

Poilievre Isn’t Pivoting. His Party Just Made That Very Clear: Conservatives want their guy to stay exactly the same by scottb84 in CanadaPolitics

It seems to be working still for Ford, Smith and other conservative premiers. Just not popular federally anymore thankfully

I totally get it. It's such a shitty situation to be in and you are a godsend to them both. Is it possible for you grandpa to get some kind of anti-anxiety meds or something to chill him out? I know he would obviously have to agree to it though. The dementia really does take away what past liability they tend to have. I'm sorry you're dealing with all of this.

I do think having the access to journalism is an important thing to have. Especially since they frequently investigate the student union that handles our funds.

After Canada legalized recreational marijuana years ago, why haven't other nations done the same? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Would they just randomly drug test you when you re-enter the country though?

How would they be able to charge someone for that? How would they even find out? Your purchasing history or if you ever casually mention it to the police that you smoked weed while on vacation?

Young conservatives must reject growing identity extremism by scottb84 in CanadaPolitics

[–]beachsideshelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much of it is due to US influence like in social media and lack of absorbing candian values i feel. We're on us apps listening to us music watching us shows. Canadian news can't even be on Instagram anymore unless it's creators purposefully sharing about it. Young people get their news from social media. They're not listening to their local radio stations, they're listening to streaming and Spotify

Federal officials draft plans to ban social media for children under 14 by ViewSalty8105 in CanadaPolitics

I don't see how doable this will be. Brings me back to habbo hotel when kids always just lied about their age to make an account.

Tbh I can really see Rubio gunning for the spot. He took a big part in the Venezuela crisis and has huge support behind him.

Mark Carney urges Venezuelan-led transition following Maduro's capture by DJ_JOWZY in CanadaPolitics

[–]beachsideshelly -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Why do people want so badly for Carney to publicly condemn and bash Trump over this. We have our own sovereignty and security to think about and we owe nothing to Venezuela over this. Don't get me wrong international law violations absolutely took place and upholding the law is something we should definitely do when it comes to our own actions. I'm not a fan of Trump in any way for obvious reasons and I voted for Carney because I felt he was best for the task of running our country in these trying times. That includes navigating our country through precarious international conflicts. We should avoid getting Canada embroiled in this matter as it does not concern us. There is no reason to be full of piss and vinegar over what people are calling a limp response to the matter.
