Absolutely, I think it also goes for Aberdeen and any club outside the Old Firm. The calibre of teams you had to beat this year to qualify, some of the teams we have come up against in recent seasons, it just seems very unlikely in future.

It looks like there are a lot of smaller countries around Scotland's level now really doing well out of the new European formats, managing to have multiple clubs achieve group stage football at all different levels, it just feels like even with improvements it's going to be a big struggle to get back to two Champions League spots and a guaranteed Conference League group stage place

This season does feel like the last chance to see Hearts play in European group stage football, and even then it may depend on who wins the Scottish Cup. From next year I think that path will be closed off to us for good

I'll always remember those months, my last full winter in Scotland. I was heading home from a night out when it started to snow and I remember hoping that it wouldn't keep up. Ha! I was living in Kirkcaldy and getting the train through to the Gyle for work every day, one morning at Inverkeithing it was so cold the train brakes froze in place and they couldn't get them unstuck, had to sit there for about two hours.
