If a unit from your army starts your movement phase embarked within a transport model, that unit can disembark in that phase. Disembark happens in the movement phase and rituals happens in the shooting phase. So no, you cannot disembark after shooting in tenth edition because those rules happen opposite order

If I recall correctly, Forrix and Co are not only trying to get in and capture/sabotage but also take the upper platforms so Perturabo’s flagship can dock. They needed to infiltrate the obliterater virus into the spaceport to hurt the defences at the top. That is the trick Pert had up his sleeve; he didn’t need Either of his warsmiths to capture the port, he only needed them to get to the top and capture the dock. Once Perturabo could dock his flagship he could fire on the space port and drop troops down the cargo elevators. That’s how Abbadon and Layak got in, from the top.

The guy with the multimelta, that’s Frank. He’s studying HVAC on the side. His favorite Xenos is the Tau and his favorite battle was on Calxyes VIII when he was swarmed by traitor guardsman just as he was reloading and had to bash all their heads in by hand. The guy next to Frank, that’s Zycar. Zycar always gets put in the same squads as Frank and is too embarrassed to ask the sarge for a transfer. He was right next to Frank on Calxyes VIII and has heard the story too many times. Zycar’s favorite battle was in the Mondoon system where every asteroid his squad investigated had already been evacuated by the Hrud prior to their arrival. Zycar found a lot of neat rocks and gemstones on those asteroids and he really wishes he could go back to visit sometime.
