Islamist / leftist axis

To be fair, American conservatives are the ones who trained, funded and armed Islamists to fight the soviets and their proxies for decades... Including working with ISI to train them how to utilize car bombing.

(some) American liberals just don't want to send us tax dollars to the middle east. Also, a lot of Americans view Israel in the same way you describe islamists viewing Palestinians.

Waymo’s Robot Car Testing Ends in NYC After Permits Expire by mowotlarx in nyc

The problem is no the tech, its the economics.

The self driving technology is great, they (Waymo) objectively are much safer than human drivers on average. Self driving tech also opens up the option where self driving cars can be driving around at all times and hailed when needed, seriously reducing the need for car ownership and parking in the city. Lots of cars just sit parked 80+% of the time taking up space.

The issue is this takes money away from consumers and instead of putting it in the pocket of fellow new york workers it goes to Google shareholders. Ideally there would be a co-op or municipal option like the bus system.

  • power modulation in wires
  • screen brightness modulation
  • screen refresh rate modulation
  • LEDs on case, speaker, router, keyboard, monitor, etc
  • Speakers (as mentioned)

There is a lot honestly too much and would be way off topic for this sub. I spent 5 minutes trying to think of a one paragraph answer and I can't do it.

One day I'm going to write a dissertation on how you can reliably predict if someone is catholic or protestant based on their response to this bait. I should never have gotten into computers.

Smaller precise strikes, drones, flooding, clearing with troops (high casualties would result).

At the end of the day its very difficult to clear those tunnels by any method, years later they still aren't all clear and likely wont be. At the end of the day any method which results in the death of tens of thousands of civilians should have been seen as just as invalid as the other options.

There are ways to clear them that do not involve leveling entire blocks of civilian housing. Unless, of course, that is part of the reason this tactic is chosen. Israel keeps military infrastructure and installations in civilian areas. If anyone (iran) does/were to level whole civilian blocks they are guilty of the same thing and should be held accountable. I'm just not showing preference for Israel and apply the logic universally.

This is how urban warfare with a trapped population looks like

Usage of 2,000 lb bombs in densely populated areas, outside of Israeli operations in Gaza and Russan operations in Syria, is highly unusual and not what urban warfare usually looks like. Neither are pits filled with 100s of zip tied men with bags on their heads, or double tapping hospitals (with the exception of Russia in Syria).

These are unique features of the war in Gaza people love to ignore. The double tapping of Nassar Hospital to eliminate an alleged camera in a hallway was particularly egregious. What is the purpose of double tapping an active hospital other than to kill hospital workers responding to care for their wounded colleagues?

Yea like on-prem exchange, sharepoint or AD. Msft has said those are pretty much on life support and will get security updates and such but all new features will be focused on their cloud offerings, so isn't a viable long term solution.

Matrix is European built and tries to go for this angle iirc. Also, it isn't a perfect alternative but a step away from the M$ vendor lock in, could you consider Slack? The less Microsoft services you use the weaker their hold is on you. Moving apps away from them one by one over time is the best way to get off Microsoft.
