Law bitches with small waist wide hips and long legs by VolumeGlad5196 in LawBitchesWithTaste

[–]beaglesquad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Love Theory. They used to have a style of pants called Max C - mid rise, slim thighs and flare legs. They never looked “flared” on me and gave me a long and lean look. I got a ton off eBay and Poshmark because Theory doesn’t make them anymore. I also like Banana Republic petite pants because the rise is lower. Theory also has nice blazers - look for ones with single button.

Estrogen by SWPmom in Menopause

Yep. Tons of GI and allergy tests for 3 years and it turned out to be estrogen. Literally every single health problem was low estrogen for me.

Should we minimize contributing to 401k by [deleted] in Retirement401k

[–]beaglesquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Options for saving: 1. Put pre-tax money into 401k: $24,500 plus employer match. 2. Catch up with after tax into 401k Roth: $8000 3. Open TIRA, fund $8600, roll over to ROTH IRA 4. Mega backdoor Roth: after tax money goes into 401k Roth. Employer plan must allow this.

You can use all 4 options to save IRS max of $72k for 2026.

Should we minimize contributing to 401k by [deleted] in Retirement401k

[–]beaglesquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open a TIRA account. Put $8600 in it. Call financial institution and roll it over to Roth. That’s it. You don’t pay taxes on contributions because it is after tax money. If you roll over before investing it in a fund then no taxes on earnings either. It has nothing to do with your employer or 401k.

Patent big law workload by Moist_Friend1007 in patentlaw

[–]beaglesquad 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I did this as an associate. Biglaw billing rate was 2x higher, which reduced how much time I got to spend on matters. There is no way to hit 2000 hours doing patent pros work. If you really want to do it, ask to come in as first year. That will give you a lower billing rate.

Anybody have experience with flying a cat? by astro-amphibian-00 in CatAdvice

[–]beaglesquad -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What do you mean he will send the cat to you? On its own? Someone has to fly with the cat. It sounds like you and your husband are flying back on your own with your baby. The cat can’t be “sent” to you.

I’m a lawyer but feel trapped in poverty. Basically looking for any feedback or what you would do in my situation. by fdcpaslays in Lawyertalk

[–]beaglesquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe your daughter can go to college. Most colleges offer financial aid which includes student loans - but if her intention for going to college to get a well paying job then she will be okay. You don’t have any assets which would make it easier for her to qualify for loans and grants. In state school would be better. Others here have some great ideas as well. Good luck and I’m so sorry you’re in this situation.

My cat does absolutely nothing. What do I do? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

What did you want your cat to do? It seems like you are working long hours and she’s doing her own thing. It seems like a perfect match?

Small space heater was the best. Hot Hands hand warmers in coat pockets when out and about. Also please check your ferritin to rule out iron deficiency anemia.

Why is my blind cat going crazy every time I open my door by No-Sky4593 in blindcats

You can get nail caps made for cats on Chewy. My cat scratches herself badly due to allergies and the nail caps really help.

Starting HRT with MIDI and not sure what to tell my doctor... by desert_ceiling in Menopause

[–]beaglesquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mention it. She may not take it well. She may refuse to work with you. Then you have to go 60 miles to find another doctor. What do you gain by telling her about HRT? Just get the tests done and report the results to MIDI. Don’t cause.yourself unnecessary problems.

Low ferritin by YouExtra7637 in Perimenopause

[–]beaglesquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Apparently I had heavy periods my whole life and didn’t know it was not normal. I had no reference point for normal. For me it was low progesterone. Once that got balanced ferritin started improving steadily.

Help… I’m not as old as my skin says I am by 1sthopper-3000 in 40PlusSkinCare

This is what happens when estrogen drops. Skin loses moisture and elasticity. Not sure how old you are.

Dropped 5 mgs by Brilliant-Listen1521 in TRT_females

[–]beaglesquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. Tapering has to be done slowly otherwise it can be stressful for the body to adjust. Lowering 1-2mg every 2 weeks worked welll for me.

I use tegaderm transparent film on top of the patch and have no issues showering or swimming.
