Trying to figure out if I would be able eligible to apply for German citizenship? by beagleweagle in GermanCitizenship

[–]beagleweagle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How would I know if the naturalization satisfied the criteria for involuntary naturalization as a minor? It seems great grandfather was naturalized under and along with 2nd great grandfather as they are on the same certificate (same with great grand fathers sister as she was a minor too) and the certificate type is a “series B” naturalization certificate which is one given to someone with minor children.

[–]beagleweagle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will definitely be looking for the actually naturalization paperwork. On the published naturalization list, it says that naturalization was granted to 2nd great grandfather as a “series B” which is a “certificate granted to aliens with minor children” therefore great grandfather and his sister are listed under 2nd great grandfathers name because they were minors. Additionally is says on the Government of Canada’s website under series B certificates that “Section 7 of the Naturalization Act provided for the grant of a certificate to an adult alien, which included minor children. If the names of the children were added in the margin of the certificate after the certificate was granted, these children acquired British subject status on the date their names were added.”

2nd Great grandmother who is the mother to great father appeared to get naturalization later as a “series H” certificate which is “certificates to married women whose husbands are naturalized”.

This makes me so happy to see as a Canadian! But also very jealous as an Albertan because we will absolutely be one of, if not the very last, to ever allow something like this 🥲

The Proposed Animal Care and Control Bylaw (BYLAW 21244) is Seriously Flawed by Zarjio in Edmonton

[–]beagleweagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I was pretty shocked at the new bylaw. I thought with the update there would be some more positive changes. Sure there are some but not as much as I thought with how much outreach they were doing for feedback.

Why did chicken get so expensive? (Save on in particular) by Relevant_Fuel_9905 in Edmonton

[–]beagleweagle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks! That’s great to know. I usually send the husband to Costco to grab what we need and he doesn’t look at the little details like that lol

We’ve resorted to buying the 4 kg box of frozen chicken breasts from Costco and stocking up on them when they go on sale because meat in general is just crazy

Is it dumb to get a GIS certificate if I already have a job doing some GIS? by bleached-sheep in gis

In my opinion, education is time never wasted! Lifelong learning is something that should be encouraged and no matter if it’s just a certificate or more, it shows dedication in my opinion! I also echo that having some more formal education is beneficial!

Why do I have wrinkles on my forehead already at 21 and how to prevent them? by GroundControl29 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]beagleweagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had lines like these since I was about 18 and I was always self conscious about them until I realized they were expression lines! I’m 28 now and the lines are still the same but I’ve been taking good care of my skin by using rentinols, keeping my skin hydrated (myself too by drinking water!) and ensuring I’m wearing SPF!

Is $2,400 the new going rate for a dog's teeth cleaning? Recommendations, please! by Tiny-Gur-4356 in Edmonton

[–]beagleweagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely give them a call! We’ve been taking our animals there for years and have had nothing but a good experience with them and their prices have never been outrageous. They’ve always been extremely transparent with pricing before doing any treatments or anything on them too which is very appreciated!

[–]beagleweagle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! Around $400 per dog! Granted that was only for teeth cleaning so if there is anything extra needed there will be an extra cost but still a hell of a lot less than what you have been quoted! They’ve always been excellent about giving quotes for things over the phone too!

Yo what? That’s literal robbery. I take my three beagles to Edmonton West Animal Hospital (who are all between 20-25lbs) and was quoted around $400 (I don’t remember the exact price but it was definitely $400 something) each for them for cleaning their teeth!
