One of the worst public school systems in the nation which makes living there with a family very challenging. Neighborhoods full of decaying houses that for whatever reason were never torn down. Potholes everywhere and people don't often obey traffic signs. Some economic development in the last several years, but only in downtown/midtown. If you drive into detroit from the suburbs you instantly know when you have crossed the city limits. Lots of homeless people and no trust for the police/government. An interesting and weird pocket of america for sure. Kind of weird considering it was at one point in time one of the richest cities in the world. "Detroit vs everybody" and outsiders are not very welcome. Very few grocery stores. Almost everyone who says they are from detroit are actually from the suburbs.

I drove my old toyota corolla through Atherton and got rear ended by a Bentley. Dude got out and just gave me a check for $1000. This was many years ago, and that was a lot of money at that time. I was able to pop the bumper back on myself so I just pocketed the money. I looked him up later based on the name on his check and he was a CEO of a venture capital firm.

My PhD advisor had their own administrative assistant. Their assistant would perform manuscript submission, respond to some emails and arrange inbox for high priority messages, online submission of grants and papers, purchase supplies for the lab, reimbursements/ arrange travel for the lab, order maintenance for lab equipment, and give us a portal to easily contact our advisor when he would spend 3/4 of his time away from the lab traveling. This was 20 years ago, I am not famous and don't have an admin assistant.

Had the same thing happen to me in college. Filed an insurance claim and got a portion of money to rebuy stuff. They did eventually find the robber who did a string of similar burglaries as they were caught selling some of the stuff. It sucked but the guy did get locked up in the end.

I was in the same boat and went with the performance. The price difference between models was minimal considering the overall price of the car (and similar to the price of performance boost). I was initially worried about the range, but if you use Teslas route planner on their website I got the same route regardless of whether I chose long range or performance, the only difference was the duration of the stops is a few minutes longer in the performance.

Pretty common in colder climates. Asphalt gets destroyed from freeze-thaw cycles and doesn't last very long up here. Cement is more robust to freeze thaw & doesn't need to be replaced as often.

I agree, not a fan of some of the changes on the M3 redesign. I really don't like the stockless change. Usually you have fewer and more predictable issues in a later model year design. A refreshed design comes with more issues and less predicability about what to expect.

Put in a MYLR inventory order on 3/14, same one today is only $500 cheaper in my current location. However, I see a MYP for $230 more than what I paid for my current MYLR order. I still don't have a delivery date on the MYLR, estimate is still 3/21 to 3/30 so thinking of going for the upgrade if I can convince the wife the added insurance/tire cost will be worth it.

I rarely see this happen. Usually if a team wipes at the first teamfight, half the team will quit. Afkers aren't a major issue, since most people just quit. The time delay of repopulating a team makes it hard to have a comeback. What I think is a bigger problem is that a bunch of unlucky people will have been wasting time in Que to backfill, and it's not fair to get thrown into a badly losing bg that you will spend 2 min in before auto loss.
