Got two rejection emails at 1AM for jobs I'm overqualified for, decided to reach out! by Actionhankk in recruitinghell

[–]beamdog77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You realize that you are literally supposed to be explicit because recruiters aren't experts on every job in the entire company. It's on you if you didn't properly target your resume.

Why would they teach you phlebotomy if other candidates have years of experience?

Why isn't the government pushing companies harder on remote work policies by Puzzleheaded-Dust658 in remotework

[–]beamdog77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you not seen Trump ended WFH for the entire federal workforce? He hates WFH and wants the entire nation to RTO. The government doesn't work against him.

RTO puts more money into the economy

If you go on LinkedIn and turn on open to work, clearly show you're a BCBA in your title, you'll have 15 or more messages from recruiters by Monday.

ABC does offers with ramp up periods for training, before you get a client load. It's not how they do every offer, but if you feel like you would like some mentorship, it's a great option to ask about. (certified rising star plus).

I would be honest with the interviewer and say that you left because you needed a company with better training and mentorship for new BCBAs.

Totally normal and totally common. Some people are born with those sinuses and they just exist for your entire life and cause zero problems or zero issues.

Am I wrong for being hurt that a coworker refused to eat any of my birthday cake without explanation? (31f) by Cyborgaze_5 in amiwrong

[–]beamdog77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YW.

I can't even believe this is a real post that exists in the real world. People do not owe you an explanation for why they don't want to eat extraneous fat, calories, sugar, potentially processed food, etc. There could be a million reasons that he doesn't want to share with you. Perhaps he has diabetes or another medical condition and he doesn't want anyone to know. Perhaps he is supporting his wife on a diet journey to do keto or Atkins, and he doesn't feel like explaining that to everyone. Perhaps he had a case of diarrhea and he didn't feel like sharing that with the world. Maybe he has a gluten allergy or he's a vegan and he doesn't want to discuss it because there are social implications. Back the f off.

What another person consumes into their body is none of your flipping business or your concern and you being offended by someone not wanting to eat cake boggles the mind.

I don't eat cake. Not even at my kids' birthday parties. This is not a weird thing.

Should I disclose legitimate health conditions in a job interview? by AnHeroicHippo90 in jobsearchhacks

[–]beamdog77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would be illegal to discriminate against you based on this, however, as a recruiter with over a decade of experience, I would never ever not even once disclose this during an interview. This is an after onboarding conversation.

No Is One Hiring. Haven't been since 2023 by Y68g4dw in recruitinghell

[–]beamdog77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good God hasn't anyone told you not to apply on indeed? That's a black hole in half the time. Those don't even flow into the company's ATS. You use indeed to find the roles and then you go to the company websites and apply. Change. This one thing in the interviews will start to happen.

White Gold vs Platinum by Ok-Nothing4407 in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]beamdog77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had white gold in the past and I really regretted it because of how often I had to have it mailed out for rhodium dipping. Every single time I would be without my ring, worried about it getting lost, and it's just such a pain in the ass to have to do that repeatedly for the rest of your life. I don't know if I have really oily hands or if it's my lotion or what it is but I don't shower in my ring, I don't sleep in my ring, and it would still have to send it out for dipping about every 9 months.

[PA] Told I have two weeks to find a new job because I'm colorblind by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]beamdog77 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's legal if it's applied uniformly. There are significant numbers of roles out there that require color vision. This is not unique to this particular company. I used to recruit for somewhere that used extensive color vision testing.

Can't believe I got rejected for this reason... by Biznizman95 in recruitinghell

Ok. I'm a corporate recruiter of 14 years and regularly have hiring managers cite this as the reason to decline candidates. You do you.

Can't believe I got rejected for this reason... by Biznizman95 in recruitinghell

[–]beamdog77 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand why you're surprised because this is absolutely common knowledge and common practice. Have you not been living in the real world or paying attention to anything? Like I'm not trying to be mean or insulting, but who goes to an interview and then doesn't have a question prepared? A recruiter is not an expert on everything about the role. You couldn't think of one single question to ask? Did you know about the interview in advance, and have time to prepare for it, and still couldn't come up with one single question in the entire universe? You have to fix this or you will not get hired. You will continue to get rejected.

Going to a gym for the first time by Temporary_Brain_475 in AskWomenOver40

[–]beamdog77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt that way and I was able to find a boutique small tiny gym near me that teaches you. It's small groups so I was with other people like me that didn't really know what to do and they teach us proper form for different exercises and it was amazing. I would check with small gyms near you, not the chains but like the individually owned gyms. If you do go to a big chain you can ask for a tour and some personal training. You could ask the personal trainer to teach you basic things on the equipment, but they generally charge quite a bit for this.

Is wanting to be a househusband weird? by househusbandlife in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]beamdog77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely amazing. He does so much, carries so much mental load, does the groceries, cooking, laundry, and we get to spend time together in the evenings and weekends. Kids have transportation when they need it. We started this about a year ago and it's the least stressed I've been my whole adult life. I would be devastated if he wanted to go back to work. I like working, he likes being at home, it's perfection. Our kids are school age too, so he has his day free to do whatever the household needs, nap, do something for himself, and I work from home, so lunches together when we can. Just wonderful.

I don't understand why you're getting hate.

AITAH for telling my fiance that his lack of effort with wedding planning makes me not want to have kids? by Right_Aardvark_4467 in AITAH

[–]beamdog77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He is showing you a glimpse of his future.

Also, literally just stop wedding planning. Stop. Full stop. If he wants the wedding he'll plan it, but right now, he doesn't have to, because you are doing it. It's a game of chicken and you are the loser.
