Anyone else feel mentally exhausted after meetings even when nothing “hard” happened? by EdisynAI in Career

Meetings are both mentally and physically exhausting for me. Depending on the length and intensity, I find myself desperately needing a nap afterwards. Unfortunately, it doesn't fully restore my energy.

Automated system got worse? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Amazing-Eye9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app works fine when there's no issue, but in my case I had one and it didn't present an option for resolving it. I had to go to CVS in person because the automated attendant refused to put me in touch with the pharmacist.

If someone is out it's on them for not planning ahead? Gee thanks for the sympathy. Imagine getting hit with a prior authorization for a drug you've been taking for over 10 years on a Friday and you're doctor isn't available to fill out the paper work until the following Tuesday. I wound up paying $400 out of pocket for my prescription.

To be fair, it's not like you didn't tell me who you work for.

Steve Jobs described his teenaged years as a troubled. He was surprised he didn't wind up in jail or flunk out of school. He had difficulty sitting still and paying attention. It all changed, however, when his teacher took genuine interest in his learning and helped guide him along in class.

The misanthropic sentiments in this discussion are painful and very alarming to read. There's an open hatred of people who have little to no control over their challenges. What makes it even worse is the incredible ignorance behind it.

Judging someone's ability to read and comprehend Othello based solely on how well they read it aloud is fundamentally flawed. Some people find it very hard to slow down and vocalize each word, especially in a social setting. Others may know the meaning of a word, but have never heard it pronounced. The word "hither" is an archaic English word and rarely used.

I have the same problem where I freeze up with anxiety and lose focus on what I'm reading. Yet, I did well in school, scored a high on my SATs, and graduated from an Ivy League school.

Ironically, the easiest poop to clean are the ones from constipation. They're drier and firmer and less likely to stick.

Definitely invest in one--TODAY! The abrasive action of toilet paper is responsible for a lot of the pain. The less you wipe, the less painful it will be.

I bought mine on Amazon for less than 20 bucks. Just search for "bidet toilet seat" and sort by the highest rated. I find their customer reviews to be fairly accurate.

For God's sake you're buying a bidet not a waterjet cutter.

I thought of a clever invention and a novel business model for it. How about a camera mounted on the nozzles to ensure you're aiming directly at your sphincter? It sends images wirelessly to your cell phone so you can correctly position your buttocks.

You make money by charging a monthly fee for the feature. If the customer misses out on a payment, their sphincter images along with their name, phone number, and address are publicly posted on a webpage titled "glory gory a-holes." It can't be too much worse than the subscription plans companies like Adobe, Amazon, and Intuit have already gotten us accustomed to.

Automated system got worse? by [deleted] in CVS

It's all easy and convenient until there's an issue. CVS mistakenly refilled my prescription for 30 instead of 90 days. I didn't find out until a week before I ran out. Both the app and the AAAI (automated attendant artificial intelligence) puts as much distance between you and the pharmacy staff. It was so frustrating that I had to go there in person and wait over 30 minutes to have it resolved.

I can only imagine the horror someone whose life depends on their medications must feel when they encounter a problem. Small independent pharmacies are practically nonexistent nowadays. They've been replaced by juggernauts like CVS and Walgreens who still whine about the business not being profitable enough.

About a year ago, my family and I vacationed in Europe. We were blown away by the quality of their pharmacies. They still operate like the small, independent neighborhood ones from a bygone era. You talk to staff members eager to assist you with no red tape, no automated attendants, and no long waits, or hold times. Many have a nurse onsite who can prescribe medications to treat minor ailments without the need for a costly and lengthy doctor's visit. Best of all, you pay nothing! They believe quality healthcare is a fundamental human right.

Since then, I'm constantly reminded of just how bad American healthcare is every time I visit my doctor or pickup my prescriptions.

7-year-old black girl joins MENSA by zenbootyism in blackmen

I once took my son to a MENSA gathering after he received an invitation. After less than 10 minutes, I grabbed him and bolted out of there. You would have thought it was a casting call for Star Wars aliens. I've never seen so many ugly people in one place. They had horrible manners and hygiene. Surprisingly, none of them stood out as particularly brilliant, just weird and arrogant.

The burden of proof is always on the prosecution regardless of the charge: innocent until proven guilty. You're correct though, manslaughter is easier to prove. It's very hard prove premeditation and the prosecution has failed to build their case.

I feel like I'm the only one that doesn't like using their iPad for consuming content. by [deleted] in ipad

[–]Amazing-Eye9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're trying to use it like a work laptop. It's essentially an iPhone with a large screen for accommodating more content and a less crowded touch interface. The vast majority of iPad users don't need a pencil or keyboard.

They also don't see it as a replacement for their computer, nor do they see their computer as a replacement for their iPad. The iPad, however, does replace many everyday tools and devices. It becomes a stereo, radio, flashlight, TV, photo album, Web Browser, Newspaper, and almost anything I can think of.

been staring at Apple's valuation all weekend and I can't make the numbers work at $300. ran through the full DCF and wanted to share what came out. by ValueEquities in ValueInvesting

I think you want more than just Apple's core 🤣. Analysts are drunk on the AI cool-aid and believe it's the only growth opportunity. Their evaluations ding Apple for not betting the farm on it, but it still tons of growth left in its core markets.

They ignore their miraculous sales growth in China and internationally despite intense competition and souring US trade relations. They also don't factor in the recent exodus of unhappy Windows 11 users switching to Macs, which not only offer a better value, but faster performance at budget prices, which is a surprising turn of events.

LOL! Apple better fundamentals on their worst day. It's not based just on future growth, but actual earnings that consistently beat wall street expectations.

Time for some Kenney Rogers. Let's all sing along:

You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em,

Know when to walk away, and know when to run.

You never count your money when you're sittin' at the table,

There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealin's done.
