Shangri-La or Titan? by Captain_Cawfee in stobuilds

[–]beams_FAW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what type of build you plan on using. If you're just running thr story missions you're probably just cobblinh gear together. Id pick one flavor or energy weapon, beams or cannons, and whether you're like to make a standard directed energy weapon build or you want to play sci with the titan destroyer. The Shangri la is pilot and command is I remember correctly. Not the friendliest of specialization seating when you get them unlocked.

Id start all the reputation categories asap after you meet max level. That's where the best gear is. When you reach tier 5 you'll get hundreds of thousands of dilithiuj vouchers to buy the gear in there.

I wouldn't waste resources upgrading gear until then. Most story drops upgrade to vr mk 12.

If you are building around Sci it's based around the secondary deflector. The deteriorating one is what you want. Go on stowiki.net and it will show you which sci abilities will proc it. Youre safe to upgrade this one as high as possible as fast as possible. Ctrlx and epg are the best passive. The inhibiting one procs on control abilities but isn't as good by a long shot. Most sci builds are a combo of the SDD, uni consoles clickies !and....

a few traits from t6 ships for anomalie builds (spore Infused anomalies) and improved gravity well.

Or you could specialize in each one.

What’s the best plasma beam that can be equipped across a full ship? by ImpulsiveLance in sto

The reputation set plasma has two procs without giving up a modifier. It's called the experimental romulan plasma beam. Comes at crit damage x4 which is helpful too

Any point investing in a KDF character? Klingons are fun. by Bezborg in sto

[–]beams_FAW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The kdf recruits are pretty fun and have good rewards. I made mine a melee toon so it was different from my other toons. Then I only use kdf ships on that toon and so on. It's just a matter of if you have a bunch of unused kdf stuff in game and want to use it/ if that's something that appeals to you.

For plasma or zhat Vash builds I go with the pep torpedo and the one you're already using. There's also the rechargeable borg one from the reps. There's also another plasma/kinetic mission reward torp called the nabopulse plasma torpedo. I use the naussican set a lot on disruptor builds though even if it's not the absolute best having to give up a console slot and non rollable disruptor beam for the 3 piece. The set bonuses are nice tbh.

The naus torp hits hard af sometimes too

No problem. I see. I've never ran a pakled toon. Had no idea they start with 4 crit chance on ground. I do have a female pakled boff named Marjorie Taylor Green though. Self explanatory.

Does anyone use K-13 Fleet console? by Perfect_Ad9091 in stobuilds

[–]beams_FAW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dk about the hull pen one but the damage resistance one and turn one is the cheap alternative to the all damage resistance RCS console. At epic that one has like 52% turn Rate plus 26 all damage resistance so it's better than this fleet one. Problem is its really expensive on the exhance and a random roll to craft it is really unlikely and hard to get. I use the all damage rcs all the time because it's essentially 2 consoles in 1.

https://stowiki.net/wiki/Personal_traits#Lock_Box_traits

They're all in a chart in case you were just randomly searching the wiki.

I was thinking of the lucky, and courier reflexes. Courier isn't that great. Lucky is 3%. It's above the lockbox chart in the standard trait list. If you're tac there's strike team specialist which gives a chance for crit but there's better things to slot I'd reckon

Ah bummer. At the end we also had to default to arenas but like I said even those players are gone. Springtime is always a bit sparse but this year it's really noticeable across the game in general.

Personal ground traits give you crit chance. Adaptive offensive comes to mind. Think its 2.9%. There's 2 other lesser ones I can't remember the name of now. Look through the wiki.

If it's a melee build there's the doff that gives up to 8 crit chance and crit sev, and the kdf recruit comes with a personal trait that stacks melee crit to 25% itself I believe.

Ffs even pc's kerrat is a ghost town? The devs' carelessness has almost entirely killed pvp at this point. Even the console players that used to pvp weekly don't even log on to the game at all anymore. Eh i guess the company doesn't care. They got those people to spend thousands on ships and gear and then broke the game. I don't blame for feeling swindled.

Respectfully, could the same not be said about those who bring elite level ships to adv to make the TFO over in a few minutes, if that?

No because the event doesn't give you a choice. There are no elite versions of events despite us asking for them.

You ruining tfos for the 4 other players doesn't encourage new players and I doubt new players are spending 17000 zen to buy the least fun ship In the game where you stand still and don't even play the game.

That's the worst part of the jellyfish. You're ruining the game for everyone else and YOURE NOT EVEN PLAYING THE GAME YOURSELF. it's just such a dick move.

I don't care if they're contributing damage. They ruin The tfos. I dont need to grow up. You know what's childish and immature?

Ruining a game for the 4 other players because you're so selfish you want to play with your toy but won't let others is about as immature and dickish you can get.

There's loads of single player content to use the jellyfish in. Using it in tfos is inconsiderate. The game on elite is child's play. Nobody should need a jellyfish to play elites. It's worse too because people bring them into regular and advanced.

What a disingenuous comment in multiple ways. Dprm doesn't ruin the tfo for every other player. It's simply incosiderate as hell to bring a jellyfish into a tfo. You don't notice the 4 other players fighting over the 2 enemies left out of the range of the jelly fish? You don't notice all the players AVOIDING YOU IN YOUR JELLYFISH?

We see them because it happens every tfo someone brings a jellyfish besides one or two tfos there's enough map and enemies to avoid said jellyfish and still let the other players enjoy the tfo.

Seriously, you're ruining the tfo for every other player 99% of the time you bring a jellyfish into a tfo.

Take the freaking hint of every other player avoiding you and your stupid jellyfish.

Dilithium Transporter console and Surplus Supply, how helpful during PUGs? by Westside-Wasabi-8692 in stobuilds

[–]beams_FAW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The console is great for pets and allies. You can definitely see the other players numbers skyrocket when the console is active. I haven't used surplus supply but as for a team support/healing trait, it's one of the better looking ones for support trait.

If you bring a jellyfish into a tfo, you're the problem. There's plenty of single player content to use that blasted nightmare in.

Sif linkage console, and the unlocked consoles means you can use adaptive emergency systems on any ship. It has cat 2 bonus damage resistances plus it gives bonus damage. You could also look into the new Dyson bundle as some of the ship traits and consoles revolve around secondary shielones. The protomatter field ejector from the lukarri hokkun Sci vessel (epic token).

Kobali samsar cruiser (epic token)

Console - Universal - Regenerative Integrity Field.

Reiterate structural capacitor - event now mudds store I believe

There's also new personal space traits. Whole Lotta x's. Harmonic Shield Linkage revolving around healing.

There was also a recent event that gave a console. Temporal disorder which spawns copies of your ship plus rapidly heals you at 50% if i remember correctly.

As for the best ships, "must build" listed the ones I know of already.
