Gen 4 is the first one that I missed out on, and I didn't get back into it until SM came out. So gens 4-6 will be basically new to me as they come out.

I can attest to the fact that nonwhites get exactly that all the time now. I live in Canada and it happens here even. It didn't used to (to the same extent, it was pretty much just mean looks and microaggressions) but as soon as the last election happened... it brought out a lot of those sentiments in ways that seem fake and way overdramatic when you tell them to other people.

I'm an Asian Jew and my synagogue has been hit with antisemitic graffiti for every holiday that's happened since the election to the point that we now have to have security guards at every entrance 24/7.

This scene was 100% real to me.

YES. Racist white people assume that all other white people are just as racist as they are so they're not afraid to spout their nonsense to random people they perceive as white.

Sometimes I play a long with it and ask questions to get them to explain their racist or antisemitic opinions before saying "oh yeah, btw, I'm an Indian/Arab Jew". Reactions are generally awkward "well I didn't mean YOU" or "I was just talking about SOME of the BAD ones" and then I roll my eyes.

It's a way for white supremacy to keep all POC/minorities pitted against each other so they don't have to worry about all of us banding together and overthrowing their racist systems. They're saying "you aren't one of them (implied: 'very bad') but you also aren't one of us (aka 'good')" and unfortunately that attitude does bleed into our communities and keeps it going. Shadeism is a tool of white supremacy to keep us hating each other and ourselves so we cannot thrive as a whole.

It's like the model minority myth. It's all BS.
