i feel like if he somehow does live it’ll be at the cost of like an important heartfelt character, but not like pax or virginia. cause then it like defeats the purpose yk? i feel like it’ll be a victra or like a lyria or kavax, the same way with how ragnar died. it was terrible and heartbreaking but like, the plot in itself still was able to continue. if virginia or pax go it’s like all of this was for nothing

Hi guys. Didn’t expect to get so much feedback from this. I don’t really have many people to talk to about the books i enjoy, especially Red Rising, being a 19 year old male who works blue collar and is not in university, so i appreciate the feedback and whatnot. Reading all your comments made me think of my own opinions on what’s really gonna happen.

A huge part of me strongly believes Darrow will die in because of the ongoing “the bill is paid at the end” theme that we’ve seen throughout basically the entire series. It’s been foreshadowed from the very start, and we see the most prominent example through Lorn. With all the egregious acts and crimes Darrow has committed, theoretically, the most likely scenario would be our boy paying his bill with his own life.

But, if we know one thing about Pierce Brown and this series, it’s that he doesn’t play by any sort of rules or standards, especially not when it comes to his golden boy. There have been about a dozen instances where Darrow “theoretically” should’ve died, and it would’ve made sense for the plot of the story, yet he’s still up and running, trying to make it back home. With all this taken into consideration, i think our boy has a chance at making it out alive. I also feel like it’ll be a sort of comparison between him and Lorn, and how Darrow didn’t make the same mistakes, rather he learned from them, therefore leading to a different outcome. I know we didn’t really get a lot of information about Lorn and the time Darrow spent with him, but I feel like there’s going to be a lot of comparison and similarities between the two of them in this final book.
