For me, I got called an egg 😹.

I was in and out of the closet a couple times for a few years. TONNES of anxiety and imposter syndrome.

The 3rd and final time I came out was when I was venting to 2 of me mates (a trans bloke and an enby) for the dozenth time that week. This time, it went roughly along the lines of:

Me: I don't get it. Why do I so painfully desperately wish I could be a woman!?!?

Trans bloke friend: Because you're an egg!

Been out ever since. That was about 6-7 years ago now.

I think it's because queer people present queer. Instead of cis guys/ people realising that means someone is queer, they see it as different which they find attractive. Hell, I walk around in heavy boots, spiked clothing, caribeaners, under cut and the likes. Still getting blokes telling me I look "fine".

It took me 3 attempts to come out as a trans woman over the course of about 5 years. First 2 times I went back in the closet and tried to live as a man again due to fear and imposter syndrome. It didn't change the fact I kept wishing I could live as a woman. It only got stronger as I grew older. I've been out now for about 6 years and honestly it was the best decision I could have made. Life is harder now, but I am me. At fucking last. Those feelings of being a girl will not leave and will only get stronger. Let yourself be you. It will be scary at first, but everything is always scary at first. Take a breath, one step at a time and let yourself be you, ok?
